Film scanner27 Mar 2005 14:33 GMT13
I am thinking about getting the DiMAGE scan dual IV. It is the only
film scanner that I have seen that costs less than $1000, so the only
one I can consider. I have read some glowing reviews about it and seen
some posts with a google search of groups that complain about problems
OT: Fair use of online images27 Mar 2005 07:27 GMT64
I've discovered that several of my online images are being used
by bloggers as banners or backgrounds on their sites.
Is some cases the site is a private one so I can't actually see
or contact the person. In a few other cases I've written to the
B&H is great! (and a ? about "others")27 Mar 2005 01:07 GMT14
Ordered a Canon A95 (wanted something that used the same card as my
10D) last Friday from B&H.  I don't order from them often.  Prefer to
give the the local guy the first shot always, but they were out of
A95s.  Anyway, was shipped on Sunday (Monday, really).  Arrives today
Pentax P30T and AF-200 Flash question26 Mar 2005 23:01 GMT4
Just acquired the P30T and an AF200T flash. I have read the Pentax on-line
manuals and still am defuzzled. I gather I cannot use the TTL AUTO setting
on the Flash. So if I set the flash to say AUTO GREEN and the camera lens to
f11 (ASA 400), do I set the shutter speed to Green A ...
Sticking lens shutters26 Mar 2005 18:53 GMT1
Much to my dismay I have discovered that two of my Nikor lens have
sticking shutters (a 135mm & a 50mm). I have been unable to exercise
them back to an operational status. Guess I will have to seek
professional help. Question is -- how much does this normally cost?
35mm agfa scala (iso-200) black & white slide film question?26 Mar 2005 15:13 GMT2
On march 14 2005, I have sent 1 pre paid processing mailer to send my
35mm Agfa scala (iso-200) black & white slide film to Color Reflections
in Miami Florida to get this 35mm film process and return to my house
in northeast Kansas. I have waited 12 days for my slides to come in the
why some superwides fisheye?26 Mar 2005 14:18 GMT12
Some super wide-angle lens are called fisheyes when others of similar
focal length are not. What differentiates between the two designs?
Re: OT - Should Presidential term-limits be lifted?26 Mar 2005 11:12 GMT1
This thread reminds me of a joke.....
A stock broker, on his way home from work in New York City, came to a dead
halt in traffic and thought to himself, "Wow, this seems much worse than
usual. He noticed a police officer walking between the lines of stopped
Apeture Problem... Pentax MZ3026 Mar 2005 05:44 GMT1
When the aperture ring is set at other than the "A" position, shutter
release is locked. Why? And is there any way around this?
Pentax MZ30 old wide angle lense problem26 Mar 2005 05:42 GMT4
I have a Pentax MZ-30 Which I've used with problem for 3 odd years, however
I've recently borrowed a wide angle lense for a particular shoot and I
cannot get the camera to work it, it's an old Pentax lense without
autofocus or any clever gadgetry, which - in theory - should work ...
Different Canon 70~200 lenses?25 Mar 2005 16:33 GMT1
I see many Canon 70~200 f2.8 L series lenses and notice some have a crumple
bag like the one I got with my 24~70 f2.7 L lens and some in the camera
stores have a rather nice looking zippered carry bag. I thought I read
somewhere that there were 2 models (Mk I and MkII?) with the ...
Print film closest to slide film25 Mar 2005 00:56 GMT26
Is there a print film that has characteristics closer to slide film
than other print films?
Thanks

Online retailers/multiple identities!24 Mar 2005 16:05 GMT2
An FYI for those who shop online. Read the article on p. 107 of 'Computer
Shopper' (March '05) for details. Briefly, it describes how many online
stores use
different business names and websites, but are actually the same company -
Canon Lens or Camera problem24 Mar 2005 13:56 GMT25
Something odd today.  Got the old err 99 on the 10D when I switched to the
28-135. Won't auto focus and won't stop down the aperture with DOF. Ok, I'll
clean it; didn't help. Cleaned the camera contacts; didn't help. Now for the
kicker, after playing around with cleaning and ...
