Pro C41 (Print) film07 Mar 2005 16:35 GMT14
Are there any advantages to shooting Pro C41 film over the regular
stuff? I know it's better to shoot the Pro film at a wedding or
graduation, but what about general purpose outdoor photography. Will
some of you film experts educate me please.
enlarging photos07 Mar 2005 16:26 GMT4
Is it better to enlarge a photo from a negative then scan it,
crop then print out, rather than scan a 4x6 then enlarge & crop
then print it?  Should I let the lab crop?
I am concerned with grain in photos enlarged from ISO400&800 negatives.

Olympus IS-20 w/ C-210 teleconverter lens06 Mar 2005 19:03 GMT1
I thought I'd get some nice close ups of the action of my son's dek hockey
games.  So, I bought the C-210 H.Q. Converter 1.9X lens for my Olympus
IS-20.
I think I was using 800 speed or an ultra 400.  The camera was zoomed to max

...and the Leica M3 #1045460 is still rendering great images!
When my Leica M3 came out of the factory, John F. Kennedy had only been in
office for under a year, the war in Vietnam hadn't begun yet and Neil
Armstrong was still 8 years away from taking one giant leap for mankind.
Rangefinder boom06 Mar 2005 15:52 GMT18
I'm not sure what's going on, but suddenly we are being offered several
new rangefinder 35mm models. The latest is a "Zeiss Ikon". We also
got a Rollei, Nikon and even a digital.
Most seem to be some variation of the Cosina/Bessa. What started out

Wow looks like Leica is going to bite the dust.

It was only a matter of time I figured before this happens.

Al: Love the parody.  Not so crazy about the photo.  A lower shooting angle,
better exposure, better lighting, all could have helped a lot, and
maintained the pun you sought after.
Duncan: I enjoy the feel of the shot, which is what matters to me.  I just
Not convinced of one test case D2X vs. EOS-1Ds MkII...05 Mar 2005 19:01 GMT11
Of course, I have no intention to ignite here yet another
Canon-Nikon bash-and-smash discussion.
I firmly believe that this new Nikon is perfect for the
competition and perfect for the market, regardless of

Looking for decent, fully manual camera for $50 & under05 Mar 2005 17:01 GMT52
I'm moving to Virginia soon and I'd like to send some pictures of the
area.  I just want a fully manual camera that will take decently clear
pictures.  I've looked at the Soviet knock-offs like the Feds and the
Zorkis, but I don't know much.  I just bought a Smena 8m--it hasn't
Studio flash - Ascrolight QC405 Mar 2005 14:58 GMT2
I have an opportunity to purchase a used QC4 that is about 6 years old.
Comes with stands and two heads.
Anyone have experience with these regarding reliability and spare parts?
(The owner also has two QC 8's and two 1000's which he's keeping, so
