| Spotmatic SP F - Shutter Release Manual Control | 31 Mar 2005 23:49 GMT | 5 |
Id like to know if there is a way to manually hold the shutter open on a Pentax Spotmatic SP F. I seem to recall that it may be possible to use a shutter release cable to manually control the length of the exposure. If thats possible, I may have to go that route.

| Sigma 28-80mm electronic fault - any tips? | 31 Mar 2005 21:03 GMT | 1 |
My partner's lens recently developed a fault and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions as to what may be wrong and if it is worth repairing. The body knows what focal length the zoom as (the min. aperture changes correctly as the zoom changes) however, the body isn't able ...

| Buying Manual Camera | 31 Mar 2005 20:55 GMT | 22 |
Okay, here’s the dilemma. I’ve elected to get re-interested in photography after a 10-year hiatus. At that time I had a Nikon FM2n that I dearly loved, but was having difficulty focusing, so I tried out a Nikon 6006 which only accelerated my nervous breakdown.

| [SI] Owamanga's Ugly America | 31 Mar 2005 17:08 GMT | 11 |
So, I did actually shoot this just for the mandate. A good photograph needs no explanation, and mine sustains this notion. So here starts the required lengthy explanation: ;-) America, to a lot of the outside world *is* Hollywood. And Hollywood

| [SI] Ugly America comments | 31 Mar 2005 16:54 GMT | 51 |
I must say that I'm a little disapointed with the pictures that were submitted. I found that, although it is fairly easy to meet the mandate, it is quiet hard to come up with a striking original shot. I came up with the same idea as Bowser and Alan.

| canon 75-300 zoom lense | 31 Mar 2005 16:32 GMT | 18 |
I have taken about 5 rolls of film with a canon 75-300 zoom lense on a rebel - all photos, no matter what the light source is, are grainy and dull. I have taken close ups and distance shots, indoors and outdoors. Does anyone have any suggestions on why this is happening? I am a ...

In light of Alan Browne's thread, I thought I would post a few images from my "Ugly" SI shoot. Yes, this was a bit of a protest shoot, but a lesson learned for me as well. Anyway, feel free to comment (like I could stop most of you). <g>

| Decent Used SLR | 31 Mar 2005 02:01 GMT | 36 |
I've been taking photos for a few years w/ a Minolta SRT-202 I got from my dad. I've enjoyed it a lot but I'm faced with the problem that there's no automatic mode, meaning no one can take a picture for me, and it is about the size and weight of a brick.
