Hey! Matt Clara!!18 Feb 2005 10:11 GMT9
You've got some mighty nice friends in Curtis and Susan! We had a
delightful evening together, and I'm looking forward to more.
Unfortunately I'm pretty booked up right now but I'm trying to free up a
full day so we can spend it together! Thanks for the intros!!

[SI] Walt's Comments18 Feb 2005 01:51 GMT9
It looks like I'm not the only one who played a little with this mandate.
Maybe it was the time of year, or maybe it was just the right time to get a
little crazy, given all the garbage in the group lately.  But I like the
playfulness, even if some strayed far from a literal ...
rollei 35 metering with mr-9 adapter17 Feb 2005 19:05 GMT4
I've recently picked up a Rollei 35S and bought an MR9 battery adapter
so that I could use a modern 1.5V battery in it (for anyone that
doesn't know about it, see the following for details of the MR9:

Opemus Standard 217 Feb 2005 18:25 GMT2
Yesterday I received as a gift beautiful Opemus Standard 2 enlarger. All as
new condition and works perfectly. Unfortunately, I have no user manual, so
I don't know if this model could be adopted for use with colour head or with
filters for multigrade paper. As I understand it is ...
Ah...life can be sweet!17 Feb 2005 17:10 GMT9
Sitting on my desk at this moment is a Leica M3, serial number 1045XXX,
together with Leitz Summicron 1:2/50, Leitz Elmar 1:4/135, Leica Meter MC,
original Leica M-series handbook, plus all the caps and original lens
cases and a lens hood for the 50mm.
[OT] NOVA - document preservation17 Feb 2005 15:39 GMT3
Off topic to be sure but of interest to anyone who makes prints.
Last night NOVA looked at the conservation of the most precious US historic
documents (the Decl. of Ind., The Constitution and the BoR).
While the later two were in reasonable condition, the DOI is in a terrible
Wanted: Nikon Lense Review17 Feb 2005 13:51 GMT18
I'm looking for a detailed review from a reliable source, regarding the
Nikon 180mm AF-D ED lense - know of any?
[SI] My rejected mandates17 Feb 2005 12:56 GMT10
For no reason, here's the list of mandates I dreamed up, but didn't use:
Self-Timer (a photo of yourself in some interesting place)
Facescape (find an interesting face, one with lots of detail, and shoot
them; not looking for "model" types here, just faces with character)

Replacement Camera System16 Feb 2005 17:02 GMT6
My question is: "What's the best value in a Canon SLR film body".  Here's
the scenario:
I'm thinking of bagging my 20 year old manual focus system which features a
body that has become unreliable.
Hypothetical situation16 Feb 2005 16:11 GMT17
You arrive home and as you are pulling into your driveway you notice that
your house is on fire.
You run into the blaze to save what you can but you only have time to pull
out either your cameras or the photos you have taken with them. Not both.
Vintage Leica question16 Feb 2005 02:28 GMT21
I have become intrigued by vintage Leica's such as the Leica IIIf or
IIIg.and wonder if they have good mechanism's and lenses. Any users out
there with opinions?

Jim Kramer
I think this is my favorite of the images posted so far.  This image
deconstructs the Mandate right to its core.  I was hoping that not
everyone would go literal.  Excellent!
