Canon EF Shift Lenses, I miss something....25 Feb 2005 23:56 GMT10
Recently I played with the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L, and to
my surprise I realized that this lens cannot be rotated!
You can only shift it vertical, and thus you can only shoot
landscape oriented scenes with these lenses.
Any recommends for a mini-tripod?25 Feb 2005 22:54 GMT6
I'm looking for a neat mini-tripod after my seagull one went missing.
Basically I want something very small - preferably no longer than 8 inches
or 20 cm when folded, and with a ball head.  Also, it needs to be versatile
as I would be using it on all sorts of bumpy and non-level ...
OT: Panoramic photos of Christo's "The Gates"25 Feb 2005 08:20 GMT15
For anyone interested in seeing images of the art installation in
NYC Central Park by Christo I have posted a series of short
panoramic slide shows on my web site.
Taken with a Noblex 35mm swinglens camera.

Don't want B&H catalogs - Henry?25 Feb 2005 04:16 GMT7
Hi...
I'm a small time hobbyist, shooting a dozen or so 35mm rolls of film per
year with my old MF SLR.  I occasionally order a few small things from B&H.
Each time, I am put on their catalog list again, and I receive very
Fill light question24 Feb 2005 23:18 GMT17
Let's say I have a simple three light portrait setup, fill, key and background.
A soft lighting is desired so the key light is in a softbox (or 'brella).
Is it neccesary to use a softbox/umbrella for the fill light?
(Let's say the fill is at least 1 stop down from the key).
canon wireless flash setup question24 Feb 2005 22:58 GMT8
I own a canon 10D and a 420ex flash. I'm trying to come up with setup
for taking portrait type pictures of hockey players on the ice. Not
action shots, but the typical posed 'hockey stance' pictures.
I've been doing this with the 10D and the 420ex unit, but I'd like to
Gary Fong's LightSphere24 Feb 2005 22:14 GMT4
Is anybody using one of these?  What do you think?  Any comparisons to the
diffuser that comes with the Nikon SB800?
Voigtlander Bessa L24 Feb 2005 17:35 GMT9
I noticed on eBay and ad for a dozen or so Voigtlander Bessa L's that
take "Leica Screw mounts".  Not being a lieca person I'm not sure if
they are refering to the M39 mount or what.  Any ideas?

B&W Close-up lens +324 Feb 2005 17:35 GMT2
I tried the B&W Close-up lens +3 with my Nikkor 80-400 lens and I just
can't focus at any subject. My viewfinder remains very blurry. Has
anybody got an idea of what I am doing wrong?

Which way to err?24 Feb 2005 15:51 GMT25
Lets assume that the camera/lens combination you are using only allows you
to adjust exposure in 1 stop increments. The correct exposure for your
subject is pretty much exactly at 1/2 stop between what your camera can set
to. Do you over-expose by 1/2 stop, or under-expose by 1/2 ...
Canon SLR Lens compatibility24 Feb 2005 12:47 GMT7
I've been given a digital Olympus camera, but miss the flexibility of my
old 35mm SLR. It's an old TL (Quickloader) with an assortment of lenses,
multipliers, extension tubes and filters and I am loath to consign all
of that equipment to the back of my wardrobe. My question: can I ...
mini-lab b&w Processing24 Feb 2005 10:09 GMT10
How would you grade the quality of the processing only?
In the darkroom you can of course decide how long to use the developer
for, how long to adgitate etc..
Overall the print is more important than the processing , as long as
Eyepiece on a Leica M324 Feb 2005 04:28 GMT8
I need to know if the little black eyepiece on an M3 is removeable? I have
tried to twist mine off, but I don't want to exert too much force, just in
case it isn't.
I need to clean inside it as there is a bit of fungus that is clouding up
