I'm going to hazard a guess and say the car is a Ford GT.  I'm right,
because I just double-checked myself.  Is it cheating if you had the
right answer in the first place?
Speaking of cars and cameras, there have been TWO times I swore out loud
Tamron Vs Nikon: Lens question28 Feb 2005 16:25 GMT7
Can anyone shed light on the myth that Tamron produce the (70-300 LD zoom)
lens that Nikon market as their own (70-300mm ED). I want to buy one or the
other but would appreciate your views as to whether image quality will
differ much between the two.
What do you do with your used photo lithium batteries?28 Feb 2005 13:22 GMT6
Some environment sites allege that non-rechargeable photo lithium
batteries are toxic. What do you do with them?
Leica could have survived selling high end lenses28 Feb 2005 05:25 GMT9
Too late, but Leica could have used its lens expertise to sell high end
lenses to Canon/Nikon competing against L lenses etc.. make a profit
doing so while still able to service its Rangefinder folks. They had
the name and the quality, leica lenses on Canon digital EOS bodies

Popular Photography Review of F628 Feb 2005 03:31 GMT15
In this month's issue of Popular Photography is a review of the Nikon
F6.  They have a pro/con list called the "What's Hot" and "What's Not".
Here is one striking quote from the What's Not:  "Recording medium
requires chemical processing before it can be read."

So Steelydan seems to be among the missing, and we now move on to the
next person in line, who happens to be Richard Cockburn. Richard cannot
post directly right now, so he asked me to take care of it, and has chosen
to return to his own mandate, which is:
[SI] -PING: Clara, Henley, Lionel, Bandicoot, Baird, D.beck, McCartney, Mason27 Feb 2005 23:06 GMT1

Lens Magnification Question27 Feb 2005 22:02 GMT20
I'm looking at the following specs of two Canon lenses and can't easily
determine which lens will give me the largest magnification for macro type
work (I realize a macro lens would be better).  So - if I'm shooting a
mantis which would yield the largest mantis head in print ...
how to determine lens magnification27 Feb 2005 20:31 GMT6
How is the magnification calculated for lenses in terms of X-power?
With 50mm focal length normal for 35mm (not considering crop factor on
dslr), is 100mm 2X, 300 6X, etc.?
Erwin Puts On Leica's Prospects27 Feb 2005 19:26 GMT24
From his web site, dated January 2005:
"Leica as a company is struggling to survive: there has been a recent major
shift in shareholders, the shares themselves are at a very low level, the
workforce has been substantially reduced, and the concept for the future is

German website, Spiegel Online, has reported that Leica is in financial
