My Tripod23 Jan 2005 09:43 GMT3
To me the tripod is one of the most effective weapons that you can use
today. It is a tool of pain, pure and simple, especially when used on a
woman's face and you don't need years of training to be any good at it! You
can just pick it up and start whacking! :o)
How can I instantly tell if Canon 'IS' is working?22 Jan 2005 19:05 GMT4
About to buy a s/h Canon EF IS lens. How can I tell if the IS is working
correctly? I know it's meant to make a bit of a noise after the shot is
taken (at least my 28-135 does), but this doesn't mean it's working
correctly.

Oldies dilemma: AE1P vs OM2N22 Jan 2005 03:41 GMT10
After a little 'bargain hunting' I found myself with the following 2 camera
systems. Providing they both work well (yet to be confirmed), I need
opinions on which one I could keep as a 'spare' (my main camera is a canon
300v)

Russian 35mm RF lens21 Jan 2005 00:54 GMT2
Can anyone direct me to a website that has the dates of production for
things like the Industars, Helios and the Jupiters made for Soviet
Contax and Leica clones?  I've started to collect Kievs and FEDs and
am trying to figure if a lens sold with a camera on eBay is original
Rolland Elliot Matrix Chipping Dont Do It Nikon21 Jan 2005 00:45 GMT1
I sent Rolland Elliott a macro lens and $100 for the chipping. It's
been 8 months. No lens, no refund. The lens has been "lost". I'm not
the only one. You may be lucky, you may not. Do you want to take the
chance of loosing your valuable lens? If you have lost your Nikon lens
Flash photography20 Jan 2005 21:03 GMT8
I'm shopping for a flash, I'm seeing more types that I expected. One
of the main reasons I want one is to do light painting, night
photography with long exposures and manually illuminate different
areas of the subject, maybe with different color filters (gels ?).
Rolland Elliot do not do business with this person!!!!!!!!!20 Jan 2005 21:00 GMT2
He had my lens for seven months, during which he told me he sent it to
me (it never came, no tracking number, no insurance). Then he said it
must have gotten lost in the mail, he would find another lens to put a
chip in for me. I called him, he said he found one and it would be done

Anyone know the shutter speed range of the Nikon Action Touch
waterproof camera from the mid-1980s? I don't have a manual, but it
would help to know. Thank you.

Your Worst Lens Experience20 Jan 2005 03:51 GMT95
I hear and see a lot of fantastic stories of the best lenses used...
but rarely hear of the "creme de la crap".... lenses so bad you
wouldn't use them as artillery in a potato cannon.
Glaring examples would be lenses which provide the worst performance
