MY wife is interested in picking up photography as a hobby and I am looking
for a good biginner camera that will not break the bank. She wants a 35
mm.  We know very little about photography. Any input and advice are
greatly appreciated.

Looking at Cokin's literature and website, I can only find full neutral
density filters (eg. "152 Neutral Grey ND2"

First, sorry for my bad english since i am a chinese from Hong Kong.
I am going to go north of the china for travel next month. The temperture is
only around -20C. I don't know whether my Contax G2 can work in such
enviroment. Does anyone have any experience?

This is my first attempt at this, so please be patient.
Paul: I like the idea. In fact, I toyed with it myself.  Your execution is
straight forward and pleasant, but I would have liked to see better lighting
on the label.  It was a nice interpretation of the mandate.

Have a Nikon N80 and am just starting to mess with manually setting
aperture, shutter speed, etc.  So I set the aperture to be very small
(largest F#), i.e. f22 to achieve good focus in foreground and
background.  But when I half-depress the shutter release button to see
