Thinking of switching from the n80 to the maxxum 7. O like the large

COOL CIRCULAR POLARIZER DEMO !!!20 Nov 2004 18:45 GMT7
While waiting on the bus today, I decided to do a quick demo
showing the effects of a circular polarizer.
I took two pics, changing only the orientation of the polarizer on the lens.
It's amazing what a little turn of the filter can do.

Can anyone in here give me a recommendation for a good multi-meter?  I am
looking into setting up a portable lighting kit for occasional portrait and
still life stuff.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  What brands to look
at... which ones to stay away from?

I think I have narrowed down my selection of a beginning lighting kit to the
Alien Bee "Beginner Bee" Kit.

loose focus ring18 Nov 2004 19:19 GMT4

that i otherwise enjoy using.
it focuses sharp and holds it alright to take the shot, but it feels lousy
getting there.

Does anyone have experience with pushing Kodak Portra 100T (the tungsten
balanced member of the Portra family)?  I'd be interested in how it does at
at least 400, a bit faster if possible.

Nikon N75 taking grainy pics...any recommendations.18 Nov 2004 18:58 GMT6
 I recently bought a Nikon N75 and use a 200 speed film. What I
notice is that all the pictures I take are noisy(grainy) -- especially
the night time photos. The shadows in the day time are also slightly
grainy. At first I thought it was 'cos I was using a 400 speed
Time to *FIX* the charter for rec.photo.equipment.35mm18 Nov 2004 16:00 GMT11
The time has come to fix the charter for this newsgroup. Newsgroup
participants should be actively involved in governing the groups they
participate in. The best way to do this is to keep charters up to

SUPER-SIZED PANOS LOVE THE 20D !!!18 Nov 2004 01:26 GMT22
Ok, panoramic fans, here's one you might not believe.
This is a stitched panoramic taken from 42 (yes, forty-two) eight-megapixel
images from the 20D and the 50mm f.1.8 II lens.  I shot each pic with vertical
orientation and this produces two "rows" of 21 images each.
