Recommendation on Studio Lighting...05 Nov 2004 20:44 GMT3
I have been taking pictures for about a year now, and I would like to
start building my own small studio.  At the moment, I don't have any
sort of lighting equipment - not even a flash!  To start with, I
wanted to do some studio portraits work so I was thinking of buying

Nikon D70 vs NIKON coolpix 870005 Nov 2004 15:50 GMT1
Hi there i was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on
this matter.  A picture taken with the D70 and a 35mm lens (50mm
equivalent with 1.5X) compared with a picture from nikon coolpix 8700
which is a higher resolution camera (8 mega pixel) which one would
Exposure Problem (?)05 Nov 2004 09:20 GMT10
I have an old Chinon-CS SLR which takes 1.3v mercury batteries. I've
been using a Wein cell replacement which runs at the same voltage.
Last week I shot two rolls of Fuji Neopan 1600 exposed at 1600 and
sent them off to Peak Imaging for process and print.
Need internal light meter repair - Ricoh SLX 500 (all mechanical)05 Nov 2004 02:23 GMT6
Hey now,
Does anyone know where I could send an old (mid '70's) Ricoh SLX 500
mechanical SLR camera to get the light meter fixed?  It's got a lever
besides the lens that, when pulled, should make a needle in the viewfinder
Hello everybody!05 Nov 2004 00:27 GMT5
I posted this greeting to Rec.Photo.misc and they recommend that I post this
here.
My name is Rich, and I am pretty new to taking photos other than with a
"point and shoot" camera. I have received a large box of older camera
Camera equipment to sell - job lot or split?04 Nov 2004 15:33 GMT3

Bargain week is over...04 Nov 2004 09:58 GMT2
... and expensive frivolity week is here.
Just received my 20-35mm f2.8 Nikkor, my first ever AF Nikon lens, to share
between my FM3a and D100. First impressions are positive- haven't shot
anything yet (EN-EL3 batteries still not arrived) but the finder is clear,
Inspecting film using microscope?04 Nov 2004 05:14 GMT16
I have just got a small microscope which I use to check the sharpness of my
films. It seems that x40 magnification is enough to be able to watch every
single detail on e.g. Provia 100F or similar. Have some of you experienced
that you needed a higher magnification to be able to ...

"Incredible Photography"...03 Nov 2004 18:46 GMT2
...is the name of a new magzine you may see on the newstand. I made the
mistake, and wasted my money, don't waste yours. It's utterly horrible,
except for one thing: it makes my pictures look good.
Autofocus equipment03 Nov 2004 17:54 GMT6
I currently have a Minolta SRT-201, with a Rokkor 50 mm, a Tokina 28 mm, and
a Rokkor 135 mm. This equipment has been satisfying my photo-taking needs
for the past 2 years, but am now seriously considering switching to
Autofocus equipment.
D70: unsharp pics03 Nov 2004 12:29 GMT23
Simple question. Have been using a Nikon D 70 with both the kitlens and some
other lenses....after about half a year intense use (shot may be 15.000
pictures?) I notice the quality of the pics is degrading. They're not as
crispy and sharp as they used to be........ Tried a couple of ...
