green spots on my slide film :-(15 Oct 2004 18:50 GMT16
I got my slide film back from the lab badly damaged - there are numerous
green dots on it. Is it the lab's fault or mine? Does anybody know a
website showing scans of film damaged by labs?
Mysterious Leica tube... what have I got here?15 Oct 2004 18:31 GMT1
Dear rec.photo.equipment.35mm gurus, :-)
I got a nice, not quite minty but very good looking, Leica extension
tube off Ebay recently. Problem is, I don't exactly know what it is.
:-)

Only I'm not particularly into political correctness, so my comments
will be as inappopriate as my mood dictates :) I hope that all the

This may be off topic, but I think it would be interesting to hear
what each of you would consider to be the perfect camera.  Nothing
that is currently in production, but all aspects would already exist
in some cmaera - no sci-fi technology.
Ramblings and questions about lenses (EOS)15 Oct 2004 01:59 GMT16
this is my first post here though I've been lurking for some time.
Anyway, "hi all".
I am considering purchasing new lens; as for now, I have Canon EOS 300V
with kit lenses 28-90 (which, except distortion at short focal length,
Problem mounting Vivitar 28mm 1:2 on Pentax MZ-615 Oct 2004 01:59 GMT4
My problem is I purchased a second hand Vivitar 28mm 1:2 Auto
Wide-Angle lens, Pentax K-mount.  However the lens does not actually
go far enough into my Pentax MZ-6 camera mount to be able to rotate it
to lock into the mount.  Is this a known problem with this lens/body

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark as to what
this lens might be worth - I have one that's a couple years old in

Telephoto zoom lens for Nikon14 Oct 2004 20:40 GMT2
Getting telephoto zoom lens for F3HP, looking at new 80-200 F2.8 AF ED quite
expensive, perfect reviews, or 80-200 F4 AIS much cheaper, but haven't seen
any reviews.
Any suggestions?
used canon14 Oct 2004 19:04 GMT14
I am thinking of buying a second used Canon EOS body and I am between an
older EOS 5 or a more recent EOS 30. I have no experience with the deep
insights of the canon family, I only have had an EOS 300 for 4 years now and
a fair heritage of lenses. So, I guess I am looking for a ...

Hello there groupies and I want all of you to know that I have

this depressed group. Let me tell you that Frances was a real problem

Optical Slaves in Strobes14 Oct 2004 12:57 GMT12
I was wondering what the synch speed is for most optical slaves integrated
into studio flashes.  I was considering using a on camera dedicated flash as
a fill, and to set off strobes.  The flashes synch much faster than the
traditional synch (1/4000 or 1/8000 depending on camera ...
fraudulent entries in your photo contest14 Oct 2004 12:41 GMT5
I just got an email from the Shoot In auto-responder telling me it just
received my submission.  However I've never submitted *anything* to the SI so
this is not my doing.  Either someone sent in one of my shots without my
permission (in which case the persons running the show are ...

This is a great opportunity to get published since thousands of
