| Canon AE-1 Question (Problem?) | 10 Oct 2004 17:47 GMT | 3 |
Hi -- I just got a Canon AE-1 and it seems to work fine except that the LED that is supposed to flash when the timer is active is *always* on. (At least as long as I leave the battery in it...)

| KEH condition ratings inaccurate | 10 Oct 2004 17:37 GMT | 10 |
I ordered a Nikon MF-21 from KEH in "Like New - " condition. MF-21 arrived yesterday and had VERY noticeable scratches, scuffs, etc. Far from the Like New- description provided by KEH. Of course, they will take it back, but I'm out the 9.99 (high) shipping charge + the shipping ...

| Polaroid monochrome slide film...dead as dinoaurs? | 10 Oct 2004 02:14 GMT | 6 |
I know that Polaroid had a real bad stint there (and they are not out of the woods yet) and so they started dropping products left and right. The one thing I really wanted to try out was their slide film...in particular the monochromatic stock (can't remember the name at the

| [SI] Whose turn? | 09 Oct 2004 23:02 GMT | 1 |
Whose turn is it to pick a mandate for this [SI]? According to Matt Clara's rulz page it would be Matt White's. However, I seem to remember Al sending some sort of e-mail saying that someone dropped out... Would it be my turn (Eric Quesnel-Williams)?

| [SI] My comments on backlit. | 09 Oct 2004 17:49 GMT | 27 |
No one's done the big grilling, and so I thought I'd give it a go. All, of course, IMHO. Skip, nicely done. I like the gradation of light too and from the horizon. Others have commented on the sparkles, and I think that

| Leica M7 battery life expectancy, 1 month seems short? | 09 Oct 2004 01:51 GMT | 5 |
I purchased a Leica M7 in late June and am about to buy my 3rd set of batteries. The manual suggests I should get about 65 rolls from my batteries, however I think I am getting far far less. I bought the camera used, and not a mark on it. I am told it is about 2 years old

| My new 17-35mm AF-S lens... | 08 Oct 2004 20:56 GMT | 5 |
...is like my dirty little secret! I picked it up this morning and it is a whopper compared to the 18-70mm DX. How the hell do I keep this a secret from my wife for the next few weeks?

| anti-yellow light film | 08 Oct 2004 20:55 GMT | 5 |
I've noticed that in places (museums, mansions) where photography is not allowed they use some type of low ceiling yellow light that renders photos too dark. The lamps seem to be placed at precise spots where tourists would want to take photos.

| Lens Base Pin | 08 Oct 2004 19:21 GMT | 2 |
Please tell me the function of the small, retractable (by spring action) pin at the screw-mount base of the interchangeable lens on my Pentax Spotmatic 35mm SLR (film-type, not digital). Would it have anything to do with the lens's AUTO/MANUAL function? If so, if the
