any rollei prego owners here??12 Oct 2004 21:31 GMT1
Hi ..... I'm looking to buy a high quality P & S camera, good enough for
slides and for scanning & large prints.
My preference is for non-zoom.
I read Rollei lenses are SUPERB.
Dead Canon F-1 Comes Back to Life!12 Oct 2004 16:20 GMT3
I have a Canon "New" F-1, which had gone unused for over twelve years. I've
recently renewed my interest in photography, and will rely on this camera
(along with a T90) until I gain a clearer understanding of contemporary
technology.
Suggest a P&S digicam pls12 Oct 2004 15:36 GMT4
(Posting here b/c I'd prefer suggestions from people who are familiar
with film as a benchmark of quality).
Hi all -
Need to upgrade my P&S digicam, as my ole faithful Olympus C3000 died
Can't Find Nikon Manuals PDF Format12 Oct 2004 12:55 GMT4
They seem to keep moving them around. I've even tried  Nikonians.org but I
can't find the owners manuals for Nikon cameras.
Where ARE they?

[SI] Bowser's Shot11 Oct 2004 22:32 GMT5
Well, I tried to take a photo that's typical of my submissions, and whether
or not I succeeded, who knows? I think this one does, and here's why:
-It's a simple composition. I wouldn't know an artistic composition if it
bit my ankle, so I usually default to something simple.
Recommendation: Digitize collection: decent 35mm/aps negative scanner (or prints?)11 Oct 2004 19:00 GMT3
I have a lot of 35mm and APS negs (and prints) taken with P-n=S gear
and disposables over the years (so the quality is pretty low).
I'd like to digitize them. I lean primarily towards negative scanning
as
price of film vs. cards11 Oct 2004 16:59 GMT5
A local lab sells Kodak 100 24exp for $2.
That means for $50 I will get 600 shots, 1200 photos for $124.75(I get 2nd set
for free), for a total of $174.75
I could throw out the ones I dont like(still have them on negs), and scan the
Canon spares where from?11 Oct 2004 16:21 GMT4
I need to get a release button for the prism finder on a Canon  F1.
Its the little "pin" on the rear side left and right of the prism finder.
I have one of the two still intact but one has unscrewed itself and gone
AWOL thus making it tricky to remove the penta prism finder.
Sun vs Kodak : they settled!11 Oct 2004 15:49 GMT12
News got out in the last 2 hours that Sun and Kodak settled
out-of-court for a one-time payment of $92m that would cover any
disputed patents and Sun "did not admit any wrongdoing in the deal".
Apparently, although it disputes the patents and denies infringment,
Fix it or not before selling?11 Oct 2004 12:11 GMT6
I am looking to sell a Canon A-1 plus a bunch of lenses, etc, possibly on
e-bay.  The camera body has a problem, the flash contacts are shorted,
i.e., you attach a flash, it flashes right away.
My question is this:  Should I get it fixed before selling it, or should I
[SI] There is no god after all...11 Oct 2004 04:51 GMT18
... because Al is back with another dose of ripping images to shreds!
First off, the images in question can be found at

don't be shy, but please check out the Rulz link therein to help with your
Removal of sand inside lense mechanism11 Oct 2004 01:39 GMT14
I recently used my 50mm Minolta lens in some sand dunes on a v. windy day.
Unfortunately, some sand has got trapped inside the lens, where I can feel a
slight grinding when I focus. I can see four screws on the lense mount and I
was wondering if it is a job I could just do myself?
New Zeiss Ikon camera system11 Oct 2004 00:31 GMT93
Check the Zeiss website and Hasselblad website. A new rangefinder

REM world tour10 Oct 2004 18:02 GMT6
For the first time in freaking ages, my home town is getting a major
international band to play a venue here (just so happens to be the stadium
where I do all my rugby photography).
REM will be playing here in March next year and DAMN I want to photograph
