What's with the 67 filter craze?22 Sep 2004 16:59 GMT8
The following short zooms have appeared recently, all with ø67 filter
thread.  However very few long lenses are available for matching filters.
Canon offers the 70-200/4 but it lacks IS and bokeh isn't wonderful.
I'm not aware of anything in the Nikon line (but ø72 was once common).

What's a boykin you ask?  Shots like this are what I use to support my

Need help with 75-200mm Tou/Five Star Lens21 Sep 2004 21:38 GMT1
I purchased an old Pentax K1000 on eBay and it came with a Tou/Five
Star 75-200mm MC Auto Macro Zoom lens (1:4.5, 52mm).  This is my very
first 35mm camera and lens, so please pardon the ignorance in
terminology.  I'm a digital guru and 4x5 user, delving into 35mm for

good?
Also, which decent neutral density filter (55mm) is good?

Maximum Enlargement Possible from Fuji 80021 Sep 2004 03:35 GMT5
I shot a wedding (I'm not a professional) with Fuji Superia 800 film.
I scouted the place earlier with my Coolpix 5700 and using the
built-in flash (I had purchased a full-sized unit on eBay but it
didn't arrive until it was too late) it was way too dim with the
F-100 Shooting Data20 Sep 2004 23:06 GMT2
I'd like to try and get this data from my camera, but, there is no printed
info in the manual or the magic lantern guide.
Is the data piling up in my F-100 or do I need to buy a data back?
Should I use a 9 or 25 pin cable(PC with Win98)?
Are film scanners any good?20 Sep 2004 22:13 GMT14
I am considering buying a film SLR and a film scanner. The idea is to
use the film scanner to avoid costs of printing shots. So I can scan
and see the pics and then ask the lab to print only a few off each
roll that I like. At this point, let me make it clear that dSLRs are

Airport X-ray film question20 Sep 2004 15:08 GMT8
I know there are issues with film being scanned through the checked baggage
X-ray machine.
And I've heard instances of asking for hand checked screening of film if
it's in your carry-on luggage.
