Does anyone know how to check if the shutter is opening and closing on this camera ? With the lens on or off and the door open the shutter fires too fast to see if there is light coming through. Should i use a darkened room to slow the shutter down on do a manual exposure

I've been noticing the Kiev 35A especially in eBay and the word seems to be that its a copy of the Minox 35EL yet the dimensions aren't right. The Kiev is 145 x 87 x 98 millimeters while the EK is supposed to be 100x61x31millimeters. Whats gives?
