Sigma 12-24mm vs 14mm19 Aug 2004 19:17 GMT2
I own a Sigma 14mm f2.8 lens EX and a Sigma 17-35mm f2.8 EX for my
Canon 10d.
On the 14mm I work in dim light, shoot fast moving objects and use a
550ex flash set at 24m,  1/16 or 1/32 (1.5meter). At night I use f8,
Repairing ZORKI 4K - It has been done!19 Aug 2004 13:07 GMT2
After spending days, having fun, I have disassembled and reassembled almost
alll the camera. Finally my Zorki 4K has been almost repaired. Now there are
only  little problems with 1/1000 and 1/30 shutter speed. I knew that I
could have had a new one, used, for less than 40Euro on ...
Lens for Minolta HTsi19 Aug 2004 13:03 GMT3
What kinds of lens will work on this camera.  Mainly I'm interested in zoom.
Thanks,

Left handed SLR18 Aug 2004 23:51 GMT12
Hello and my first post here is a question.
Q:    I am looking to buy a SLR film camera as a 21st birthday present for
my daughter and she has an interest in photography.
BUT  she is VERY left-handed and finds that cameras including
[SI] Old stuff comments18 Aug 2004 20:30 GMT13
I still feel that most people here have a lot more knowledge about
pictures than I do, but I have now been benefiting from your knowledge
since SI 1, so I'll try give my comments this time.

There are two interpretations here.  Yes, stamp is old - I'm not too sure
about this exact one, but it's turn of the century (around the 1900s).  I
did a bit of reseach and saw that they made a series with the same picture

Canon Elan 7 vs Canon Elan 7n18 Aug 2004 18:48 GMT1
Is there any real difference between the two bodies? I have a Canon
Elan 7 that I purchased  about 3 years ago and I have a friend looking
into purchasing the Elan 7n and I assume it is the new version of the
Elan 7, but are there any differences???? She seems to find that the

Bracketing Minolta  maxxum 518 Aug 2004 17:13 GMT8
the Minolta maxxum 5 has autobracketing up only, 0, +step, +2 step.
(Nikon N80 does  0, -step,  +step)
If I use exposure compensation would it autobracket -step, 0, +step?

Damn you all to hell... for taking better pictures than my half-assed
attempt.

Nice color and detail overall.  The composition is a bit undramatic, but
Bogen 486 ball head - enough for Nikon 300/f417 Aug 2004 23:13 GMT4
I'm considering purchasing a Bogen 486 compact ball head but I'm not sure
if its size is enough for my equipment. The biggest lenses that I'll put on
it are a Nikon 300 f4 or 80-200 2.8. Bogen's specs say that it'll hold up
to 13.2 pounds but does anyone have any experience with ...
Color Fringing with Disposable17 Aug 2004 13:37 GMT3
I'm trying to help my mom improve the quality of her snapshots a bit.  She
just showed me a batch and they were lacking, in my opinion.  The grain was
enormous and detail nonexisten even on 4x6 prints; this is due to the 800
speed film in the Kodak disposable camera.  I advised her ...
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G EDIF AF-S VR17 Aug 2004 03:05 GMT7
Gad, that's quite a mouthful to type!
Our local distributor of Nikon gear is allegedly having a special on this
lens for a limited time where they are offering it at what looks like a
very, very competitive price. I haven't had the time to check it out yet,
Digital backs.16 Aug 2004 23:19 GMT7
I notice that Leica are going to sell a digital back for R8 and R9 cameras.
This will allow them to be used as film and digital cameras. Not at the same
time obviously. Uses a 10MP sensor.
Can't wait for Canon and Nikon to do the same.
