The $15,000 (camera and equipment ruined) shot25 Aug 2004 18:12 GMT2
"A news photographer's camera was destroyed during the recent
demolition of a MIssissippi River bridge, but the camera's Compact
Flash card survived to tell the story." "Frazier figures that the
blast ruined about $15,000 worth of equipment."
ANNI SAYS "ALOHA!"25 Aug 2004 17:01 GMT49
Well sports fans, it is now a done deal.  I've just booked passage and
accomodations for 7 glorious days in Paradise.  Yes folks, in 2 months I'll be
getting all bronzed on the shores of beautiful Maui.  Might even play a few
holes while I'm there, if you're feelin me.
F3 Repair - Is it even worth the bother?25 Aug 2004 07:03 GMT8
I have a Nikon F3 that I purchased new in mid 80's.  I got it to
complement my F2.  My dad owns 2 Nikon F's and has a large selection
of lenses and accessories.  I have taken a lot of photographs with it
over the years and really like it.  It is in absolutely pristine

Minolta Maxxum 430si broken  film door fixable?24 Aug 2004 21:44 GMT2
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to fix (and if so how, short of a
professional camera shop) a broken film door on a Minolta Maxxum
430si?  The plastic tabs on the door, which "catch" on a spring-loaded
clip in the body to keep the door shut have broken off.  I'm really

Advice for camera bag, film developing and film choice24 Aug 2004 20:57 GMT2
I (rookie) have Canon EOS 7NE, Tamron 28-200 len, and 2 filters. I am
not sure which kind of camera bag I should buy. Any suggestions?
Also, normally in where do you guys develop your 35mm film? And which
films do you use? If I use Kodak films, does the exposure chart from

Agfa to depart from photography? (one more rumor from Old Continent)23 Aug 2004 23:23 GMT3
We just came back from our Europe trip:
I saw this last week in major Dutch newspaper: Agfa found
no takers for their film division and will as the 1st of
the 3 major brands depart from photography completely,

Minolta Autometer 3 Stops Off23 Aug 2004 19:51 GMT10
Hi, I bought an Autometer IIIf really cheap, but when placed under the
10 am sun, it shows 1/1000s, f16, ASA100. Other than that, it seems
consistent. I suppose I could use it by setting the ASA value 3 stops
lower but it's just a bit annoying. Does anyone know if there is a easy ...
Minolta Maxxum 9000 -- battery holder required even with MD-90?23 Aug 2004 19:03 GMT2
I bought a second hand Maxxum 9000 camera from e**y. Upon receiving it
I found that the camera had no battery holder. It does have a MD- 90
and a Ni-Cd battery pack, but no charger. So there was no way I could
power it on and just to find out if the camera would work.
High Street Digital  Reprints (in the UK)23 Aug 2004 11:17 GMT6
Where's the best place in the UK to go on the high street for digital
reprints?
I'll be bringing the photos on a CD (scanned from 35m negatives) and
need reprints the same day. A 1 hr or 3 hr wait is fine.
