Why no Digicam shutter lag questions?09 Jul 2004 18:43 GMT14
Why are there so many threads (seemingly a number approaching infinity)
about megapixel comparisons of scanned film versus digicams, or maximum
enlargement size for 35mm versus digital, but
 * No questions about why shutter lag is so long on a digicam? *
Minolta MD-90 advise09 Jul 2004 17:59 GMT2
I have a Minolta MD-90 on my Maxxum 9000.  I'm new to this unit and do
not have an owner's manual.  Do you set the motor drive to 36
exposures and let it count down " Or do you set it to 1 and let it
count up ?  What does the S on the selector dial stand for ? Single
KEH?09 Jul 2004 14:53 GMT12
Is KEH a good place to buy used Nikon. Their prices on used equip seems a
bit high, but I've not shopped for used stuff in a few years.

Just bought my new Leica R909 Jul 2004 10:02 GMT16
I was able to take advantage of the 5% discount from Leica last Friday and
bought the R9 with the Summicron-R 90mm ASPH.  I wanted the R9 with the
black top instead of the other color so I'll be picking that up in about a
week when it comes in.  In the meantime, I took home the ...
AF vs MF in sports09 Jul 2004 05:54 GMT8
I spent Saturday shooting the North American Masters Championship bike
race. I used an F5 and a 80-200 F2.8 with some smaller primes and zooms. The
AF on the F5 is incredibly fast. I was amazed at how fast it was. My first AF
camera was an F80 which stunk compared to the F5.
Slide Processing08 Jul 2004 23:19 GMT12
It's amazing that I can't find a processor who can consistently follow
directions: 1) Push one stop  2) Save the film leader (frame #0)  3)  Begin
numbering the slide mounts at frame #1 as "1", etc.  and 3)  Keep my roll
number with the slides for that roll.
Nikon N6006 (F601) or N65 (F65)08 Jul 2004 22:02 GMT18
I am considering one of these for occasional usage. I realize the N80 is the
ultimate in the mid-range class, I just can't quite swallow that much at
this time--great camera though the N80 is.
If I ever do get to that point, I'll buy the N80 hands-down and forget this
not relevant but i have to share08 Jul 2004 20:47 GMT1

Nikon/Mtf/Japan08 Jul 2004 20:16 GMT1
As near as I can tell, there's no indication of the F stop used for those
Nikon MTF charts on their Japanese website....
Anyone know what it is?
Need recommendation - 67mm circular polarizer.08 Jul 2004 15:23 GMT4
I am looking at buying a 67mm circular polarizer for my Nikon D70. Any
recommendations ? I am considering a Heliopan or a Nikon but wanted to know
if there are any less expensive options that are not so bad in quality.
Do polarizers cause a faint vignette?  If so, is it a good idea ...
D-70/85mm issues08 Jul 2004 10:24 GMT2
I see Photodo rates the "non-D" Nikkor 85mm lens higher than the "D"
version... 4.2 vs. 4.0
Two questions.
What do you lose on the D-70 with the non-D version, and how much
PAN for Windows = a better news experience!08 Jul 2004 03:28 GMT8
Incredible as it may seem, just this evening I have managed to find a
version of PAN that works like a dream on Windows XP Pro.
IMO PAN offers the best filtering and general functionality I have ever
encountered in a Newsreader. You can filter just about anything and in any
Maxxum 7000 exposure meter calibration07 Jul 2004 15:51 GMT2
I have an old maxxum 7000 camera.  Everything is still working, with
the exception of the exposure metering -- it's reading sunny 19.  Not
a lot off, but just enough to bug me.
To compensate for it, I've been using the ISO override function on the
Extention Tubes... What's the difference?07 Jul 2004 14:49 GMT8
I plan on purchasing some extention tubes for my Canon D-Reb.  The Canon 12
& 25mm tubes are about $80 & $130 each.  Kenko offers a set of 3 for $120.
Is there going to be any noticeable difference?  It is just a hunk of metal
w/ no glass right?
Expodisc07 Jul 2004 13:14 GMT7
Anybody using one of these filters (especially with Astia)?  What's your
experience?
