| 35mm camera tools | 10 Jul 2004 23:09 GMT | 7 |
What basic tools are needed to work on (play with) some older manual focus slr bodies I have accumulated over the past 30 years and which are now starting to fail (advance lever not engaging, mirror hung, etc). Does anyone make a basic tool kit for this kind of work? I like to ...

I've got a Contax ST and the Zeiss 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 zoom lens. Needless to say, it produces beautiful, sharp images. The problem (or situation) is this: When using this lens and switching from center-weighted metering to spot metering, the exposure value declines

| [SI] New Mandate -- Hidden in Plain Sight | 10 Jul 2004 16:07 GMT | 6 |
"Hidden In Plain Sight" You know, those everyday things that go unnoticed? For instance, when in Chicago a few weeks ago I noticed some drain pipes coming down from the L. Where they met the street they'd built up quite a patina of paint, weathering, dirt, and oily grease. In a ...

| rpe35mm Shoot-In favors digital? | 10 Jul 2004 12:55 GMT | 63 |
I'm finding the two weeks deadline a bit tight because i have to send my film to be processed and it'd come back in roughly a week and a half. This leaves me with half a week to shoot an image, which in realistic terms, considering i'm a hobbyist, really means an hour or

| Nikkor 85/2.8 PC price | 09 Jul 2004 22:35 GMT | 3 |
Does anyone have an idea why Adorama would charge more for a "gray market" lens than for one made for sale in the US? They want $1170 for an 85mm f2.8 PC lens with a case "USA" and $1200 for the same lens, "gray market" without a case. Is this a misprint, or is there something I'm ...

My brother-in-law is getting married in September. I couldn't afford to travel to where he is at, but he agreed to pay our way if I photographed his wedding. I know, they always say--DON'T DO IT--but honestly enough things have happened in my life that the fear of blowing someone's ...
