I know that some of you hate Popular Photography, but if we
please could abstain from the usual bash and mad throwing...
Pop Photo came out with a method to compare the quality of
Image Stabilization using DxO software analyzer and they
35mm camera tools10 Jul 2004 23:09 GMT7
What basic tools are needed to work on (play with) some older manual focus
slr bodies I have accumulated over the past 30 years and which are now
starting to fail (advance lever not engaging, mirror hung, etc). Does anyone
make a basic tool kit for this kind of work? I like to ...
Contax zoom exposure value declines from center-weighted to spot metering10 Jul 2004 22:57 GMT5
I've got a Contax ST and the Zeiss 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 zoom lens.
Needless to say, it produces beautiful, sharp images.  The problem (or
situation) is this:  When using this lens and switching from
center-weighted metering to spot metering, the exposure value declines
fill flash with Nikon FE2 and Metz 45-ct410 Jul 2004 22:23 GMT1
All,
I have an FE2 with Metz 45-CT4 with SCA343 module.  Is it possible to
do fill-in flash in TTL.  I want -1 or -2 fill in.  There is no
control on the camera specifically for limiting flash output for TTL.

[SI] New Mandate -- Hidden in Plain Sight10 Jul 2004 16:07 GMT6
"Hidden In Plain Sight"  You know, those everyday things that go unnoticed?
For instance, when in Chicago a few weeks ago I noticed some drain pipes
coming down from the L.  Where they met the street they'd built up quite a
patina of paint, weathering, dirt, and oily grease.  In a ...
rpe35mm Shoot-In favors digital?10 Jul 2004 12:55 GMT63
I'm finding the two weeks deadline a bit tight because i have to send
my film to be processed and it'd come back in roughly a week and a
half. This leaves me with half a week to shoot an image, which in
realistic terms, considering i'm a hobbyist, really means an hour or
Cleaning Canon EOS 3010 Jul 2004 12:30 GMT6
I have somehow managed to get the sensor on my Canon EOS 30 dirty, does
anyone know a good way of cleaning it?

A friend of mine just had a sleepless night deciding between Fomei AF 150 IR
and Leica P 150 IR

Here are my thoughts on the submissions for the Friday Night mandate:

I'm as big a proponent of a well-placed archived image as you'll find
around here.  However, this image lacks your usual level of
Nikkor 85/2.8 PC price09 Jul 2004 22:35 GMT3
Does anyone have an idea why Adorama would charge more for a "gray market"
lens than for one made for sale in the US? They want $1170 for an 85mm f2.8
PC lens with a case "USA" and $1200 for the same lens, "gray market" without
a case. Is this a misprint, or is there something I'm ...
Wedding Flash Setup For N65/N80 and Coolpix 570009 Jul 2004 19:18 GMT3
My brother-in-law is getting married in September. I couldn't afford to
travel to where he is at, but he agreed to pay our way if I photographed his
wedding. I know, they always say--DON'T DO IT--but honestly enough things
have happened in my life that the fear of blowing someone's ...
