| Scanning B&W film & printing on Frontier | 05 Jul 2004 03:35 GMT | 2 |
I was wondering if anyone has had real silver halide scanned onto CD and printed with a Frontier system before? Were you happy with the prints? I am thinking of either getting a scanner or having my B&W negs scanned by the Frontier itself.

| PC lens on Nikon N90s | 04 Jul 2004 23:35 GMT | 10 |
I have a very early Nikon 35/2.8 PC lens and used it on my N90s for several years. Well, I just realized that, according to the manual, this combination could cause damage to the lens and/or body. So, what am I destroying? It seems to work fine.

| Canon 24-85 lens | 04 Jul 2004 19:50 GMT | 5 |
I've just purchased the Canon 24-85 USM lens and I need a 67mm UV filter. Due to the front element extending rather a long way,I have been warned to choose my filter with care to avoid damaging said element!

| Opinions on Contax | 04 Jul 2004 19:35 GMT | 13 |
I had the opportunity to use a G2 for a while, and came away very impressed. I was wondering what the generally held opinion on the quality of the Contax line is. Eschew obfuscation!

| Differences between Fuji slide films? | 04 Jul 2004 00:46 GMT | 10 |
Fuji makes four different ISO 100 slide films: Astia, Provia, Sensia, and Velvia. What's the difference between them? I know that Velvia is designed to give lots of saturation, but what about the others? I am guessing that Provia is a general-purpose professional film, Astia is ...

| Should I get a Minolta 7? | 03 Jul 2004 17:08 GMT | 19 |
Currently I use a Minolta 5 and was thinking of getting another (as backup) before they go out of stock, but couldn't find one without Quartz Date, so I refrained from buying. I like the 5 except I wish it had flash compensation. Several

| What do people think about FED's and Zorki's | 03 Jul 2004 11:11 GMT | 18 |
I'd like a mechanical 35mm rangefinder, 50mm f2 lense or faster, 1sec to 1/1000 shutter for taking "sunny 16" shots, also to teach my older kids some of the finder points of photography. I see a lot of cheap Russian Leica copies on eBay (Feds and Zorkis):

| Ups, downs... | 03 Jul 2004 00:07 GMT | 36 |
Well, as anyone might understand, I have good reason to be gutted tonight. If anyone Swiss is in the group, I suggest you lay low a while. On the other hand, I got my degree results today- a rather respectable 2-1 (second class, first band- the second highest band possible) and have ...

| Which screwdriver is best for camera repair | 02 Jul 2004 23:01 GMT | 6 |
I am trying to change the lithium battery in my Minolta 7000, but is having a tough time removing three of the six screws. I used a 00 philip screwdriver. The size of the driver seems about right, but it doesn't quite fit the screw. What the trick? Is there a special

Stupid thought: it just ocurred to me today, as I was putting some fresh batteries in - It really shouldn't be any surprise to us that Lithium batteries have a nice _even_ power output curve....
