Extension tube14 Jun 2004 02:08 GMT2
I'm not familiar with "extension tubes" but read an article that mentioned
using one.  B&H site shows some for 35mm but doesn't explain what they're for.
Is this for macro photography?
can i buy that foam that insulates film in classic camera?14 Jun 2004 01:40 GMT3
I have this classic camera and the black foam that covers the edges of
the film compartment at the back seems a little melted in some places.
I was wondering if this foam comes in an injectable form i can spray
to be sure it's effectively sealed.

She Looks Good In Blue June 12, 2004
As the song says, Deborah Harry looks good in blue-or wearing about
anything, or, as shown in other photo essays but not this one, nothing
at all.
Contax T3 vs modern Minox GT-S/E13 Jun 2004 23:16 GMT5
How do they compare?
I've read that the Contax T3 has an unfriendly user interface. I find
the mechanicality of the Minox so very usable, the focus and aperture
are on the lens and you just turn them so easily, there is also a

is there a pen-sized light meter?
or even smaller?
i've seen those light meters on ebay and they're too big, even bigger than my minox.
restrictions on photographing in public13 Jun 2004 21:40 GMT7
As some of you may be aware the NYC transit authority is thinking of
banning photography in the subways. There was a recent protest over
this by a group of photographers and there is an article in Friday's
NY Times making fun of the proposal.
Technique for handheld photography?13 Jun 2004 13:24 GMT24
Just asking for quick tips from you guys. I understand that sometimes
it's nice to use a tripod but it's not always feasible. So what tips
do you suggest for handheld photography?
Is it inhale, pause and click, or exhale, pause and click? Or does it
high-end (ish) compact zoom sought13 Jun 2004 06:33 GMT33
A friend's compact camera (with which she is more or less
happy) is getting unreliable.
She is about to go on an expensive holiday to the USA
(we're in the UK).
Fuji 400 X-tra film Rules!13 Jun 2004 03:45 GMT22
This has got to be the finest 400 negative film available. It is super sharp
as well as great contrast and color.

travel lens for pentax zx-5n12 Jun 2004 22:23 GMT1
There are quite a few lenses that seem interesting to lighten my camera bag.
pentax FA 28-105 f3.2-4.5 (relatively cheap, uses 58mm filters which I own
pentax FN 24-90     (more expensive, uses 67mm filters)
Tamron 24-135 (halfway in price but uses 72mm filters which I do not have)
Negative scratched -- photo lab thinks it's my film12 Jun 2004 20:54 GMT14
I went to pick up my developed prints from the local photo shop I
frequent this weekend.  The last 10 frames of negatives on one of
rolls showed a winding scratch accross them.  I asked the photo lab
guy if this was caused by his processing.  He denied it.  First he
Canadian Duty and Taxes12 Jun 2004 15:04 GMT20
How are canadian duties and taxes applied to items purchased from
individuals in the states? If I purchase a used camera or lens from someone
living in the US, does Canada Customs levy a duty and charge sales taxes on
the item?
