Penny for your thoughts on this Travel/Hiking Camera System18 Jun 2004 07:55 GMT6
Hi.  I've been researching for quite a while now trying to find the
perfect balance between quality, size, weight, and price in selecting
a system that I can travel or hike with that still will produce top
quality.  I was looking into the Canon L glass first.  I love what
Lens for Minolta SRT101?18 Jun 2004 05:25 GMT7
I need to find a lens for my old SRT101, a zoom of about 28-90mm (or close
to that).  Does anyone have a recommendation for such a lens?  The camera is
so old I have no idea where to start looking (small town, no photo stores
nearby).  Would it be an MD series lens?
Nikkor 24-120mm 3.5-5.6 VR18 Jun 2004 02:10 GMT4
Two questions for the group:
1. Does the current version of this lens change length when focusing?
2. Is there any way to distinguish "early" editions (reputed to have QC
problems) from the most current?

This shot was taken with the sun just off the tip of the crane:

Leica dealers "selling more Leicas than ever"!17 Jun 2004 23:31 GMT84
Over the last month or so I've had the opportunity to speak to several Leica
dealers (both new & second hand) in my home town in Australia.  I commented
how these days I shoot mostly digital for clients but use film for my
personal work, and casually asked them if Leica sales have ...

mail.

Opinions on Sigma 170-500mm f/5-6.3?17 Jun 2004 19:50 GMT8
Just thinking about adding a telephoto zoom to my arsenal. Just stumbled
over the Sigma 170-500mm f/5-6.3 APO Aspherical (around 500$) which sounds
like a nice deal. Does anyone have some experience with this lens? Pros and
cons welcome. Using the Sigma EX 17-35/2.8-4.0 already and ...
compacts with SLR image quality??!???17 Jun 2004 18:56 GMT55
What compact 35mmm cameras would you say have an "image quality on a
par with an SLR system"?
[SI] Bowser's Funny Shot17 Jun 2004 18:14 GMT3
My shot is a couple of guys with a large sausage. Sausages, like chickens,
are funny. Bigger sausages are funnier than small sausages. But pretty much
all chickens are funny.
I used a camera. And film.
24-120mm 3.5-5.6 VR17 Jun 2004 16:25 GMT7
Does anybody have good/bad experiences with the
Nikon 24-120mm VR lens?  And how badly will i
suffer if i switch from 28-70 f/2.8?
The intended application is as a general walk-about
Battery for Pentac Spotmatic17 Jun 2004 02:44 GMT15
I've had a great Pentax Spotmatic outfit since 1973. The first couple
mercury batteries I used lasted somewhere around 10 years each. Then
mercury batteries were banned in the U.S. and I had to find a
replacement which was zinc air cell battery.
Cleaning Leatherette17 Jun 2004 02:28 GMT6
I was out using my Nikon F2 on Sunday and in the daylight I noticed that
there is a lot of grime caked into parts of the leatherette which I am
certain could be rejuvenated with some kind of cleaning agent.
Any ideas?
KEH Camera Brokers17 Jun 2004 02:06 GMT8
I am selling some camera equipment and have received a fairly good quote
from KEH Camera Brokers in Atlanta. Has anyone here dealt with them before,
and are they reputable?
Thank you in advance for any feedback.
