candid photography lesson number one?09 Jun 2004 07:36 GMT53
lesson number one... don't take pictures of kids who aren't yours?
isn't it so? though i bet same can be said for adults. Well today, i
remembered something that some of you guys said, that you don't need
to ask for people's permission to take pictures of them in public, and

Canon EOS ELAN 7n08 Jun 2004 23:25 GMT3
Anyone using this camera?  I'll be purchasing a camera soon and the 7n looks
like a good choice for the $300-$500 range.   Any thoughts or comments would
be appreciated...
shooting with 2 SLRs?08 Jun 2004 23:08 GMT30
Anyone here use 2 bodies on assignments / jobs?
I'm talking about strapping on bodies and 2 lenses, and working
in close and fast paced environments.  I have 2 Canon bodies (Elan 7),
im not sure how they will hold up banging into eachother, inevitably it will
Slides in low light - fast film vs pushing08 Jun 2004 21:53 GMT6
I am going to shoot slides indoors w/out flash. I can see two options: ISO
400 film or ISO 100 film + pushing. Which one is better? The first one looks
marginally cheaper (e.g. Fuji Sensia/Provia 400 costs slightly less than
Fuji Sensia/Provia 100 + extra fee for pushing). But what ...

Does the "50 lpmm barrier" still stand?08 Jun 2004 04:07 GMT18
I found this page interesting http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/limits.html
though i'm not sure i fully understand it.
First of all, i'm not sure there's an obvious date on this page but
looking at the site generally i think it's a 1998 date. (some other

Tough-as-nails lightmeter07 Jun 2004 21:30 GMT3
My Sekonic L408 has been a rock for the last few years since I bought it
secondhand- however, I think i've treated it a little too harshly too often,
as all of a sudden it gives exposures roughly two stops under what I
expected. I may get it repaired... but it has made me think ...
Kirk filter stack caps - opinions?07 Jun 2004 21:15 GMT3
Does anyone have filter stack caps from Kirk Enterprises?
<http://www.kirkphoto.com/protects.html>
I'm trying to figure out the advantages of a Kirk $35 USD filter stack
cap vs. a B&H generic for $17.00 USD.

Photographing a baby in a user friendly way 07 Jun 2004 18:38 GMT7
My sister had a baby daughter whilst at the hospital she gave no end of
grief to her husband for using flash with his compact all singing digital.
I used a F3 + 50mm F1.8 with a 800asa fuji film at F1.8 and F 2.8
The comment I got was your flash did not go off of course I did not ...
front lens cap for canon 2x extender mark I07 Jun 2004 18:05 GMT5
I just bought a canon 2x extender mark I (the old version, not the
newer mark II)...it came minus the front lens cap (the side that fits
to the lens).  I have been told by several local stores that the
regular EOS body cap will fit...but it doesn't.  Perhaps the body cap
