Image Capacity on 256MB CF card?01 Jun 2004 00:10 GMT5
I have just purchased a used Nikon D100 and the previous owner includes a 256MB
CF card.
I was wondering what the photo capacity would be for this card in all
resolutions?
is it rude to photograph people you don't know?31 May 2004 23:31 GMT27
I just realized that most images i'd take would involve people, unless
i photograph landscape, architecture, abstract.
Well, there is street photography, which somewhat interests me as i
like peoplewatching. I wouldn't invade someone's privacy and i
Canon 550EX Update?31 May 2004 19:36 GMT8
Does anyone know if and when Canon will release an update to the 550EX
flash unit?  An update here meaning a newer unit.
Which rollei 35 is the best one to buy31 May 2004 19:17 GMT2
Which rollei 35 is the best one to buy? I see that there are many
models. I prefer fully manual, as i would like to start experimenting
with the sunny 16 and other rules. I may even think that mechanical is
less likely to fail than electronics. I'll carry a handheld light
35mm Agfa APX400 "New": Reviews?31 May 2004 16:44 GMT1
Though I love Agfa APX100, I found APX400 too grainy.
How does the new version of APX400 compare to the old?
I'd like input from 35mm shooters who have actually used it,
or pointers to published reviews on the Internet...
Camera for taking extremely close pictures?31 May 2004 15:54 GMT6
Hi.  What kind of camera do you recommend for taking pictures
extremely close up, like a few inches away?  I want to take some
pictures of old black and white  photographs mounted on walls at my
old school.  Since I won't be able to scan them, I need to take
Canon EOS Elan Manual  (eos100)30 May 2004 19:31 GMT7
I've just 'revinvested' more of the money from selling my old FD gear*
and bought a nice and tidy EOS100 for NZ$220 (around US$130). I think
this will complement my 300D nicely by providing a proper B&W option.
It'll also be nice for getting the real wide stuff out of the 17-40,
Slide projector help, Keystone correction?30 May 2004 17:39 GMT1
I have an odd question. I'm now involved in a project to put together
a 4 screen slide show using dissolves.
The biggest issue hitting me at this point, is that the space to put
this in is about 4' deep.
Why older cameras are better30 May 2004 13:15 GMT9
For the first time in ages I shot some film in my EOS 30 (Kodak TCN400).
Took me a while to get through the whole roll, but I eventually got my
prints back today and one thing was immediately apparent:
With all my recent use of old things, like the Canon F1 & A1, plus the
ANNI'S PHOTOSHOP OPTIMIZATION TIPS !!!30 May 2004 03:18 GMT31
I asked a certain Adobe employee (who frequents these Newsgroups) to give me
some advice on optimizing my new computer for Photoshop.
I'll share his response.

Diameter of Bogen tripod head attachment to tripod30 May 2004 01:40 GMT1
I've got some Bogen 3030 tripod heads on order for a custom application
where I need to mount them to a pipe connected to something other than a
tripod. Could anyone tell me the diameter of the "pipe" part of the tripod
that a bogen tripod head clamps to?
Minolta X370S + accessories30 May 2004 01:32 GMT2
I just bought a digital camera for my cousin and she asked me to get
rid of her Minolta kit which is an X370s 35mm SLR.  It has two lenses,
I really can't tell what kind they are: 1 looks like a f2.8 - 22
55-135mm lens, the other is an f4.5 to 32 zoom 80-200mm with
Bob Shell Update?30 May 2004 01:05 GMT10
What's the latest on the Bob Shell situation? Did he go to trial yet?
[slightly-OT] Got a photo shoot to do, but... (not equipment-related)30 May 2004 01:03 GMT15
Hey guys,
I've been asked by a car magazine to send in some of my work as a sample. I
don't really do any commercial work, but am trying to break into it, so this
is at least some good experience for me. I have a Porsche and was
Nikon 28-100 vs Minolta 28-10029 May 2004 22:24 GMT6
On a previous thread I said these might be the same lens
made by Tamron, but seeing tests for both in Pop Photo,
this seems unlikely, I was wrong!
Here are the SQF scores compared, Minolta then Nikon:
