Digital Photography, More Tech Than Imaging ?31 Jan 2004 23:30 GMT12
Looking at the latest flurry of discussions among Canon users regarding
Nikon's latest Digital SLR offering I can only conclude that with digital
camera owners it is more about tech than photography. As soon as a digital
camera with a higher spec gets released nearly every owner of ...

Nikon D70?31 Jan 2004 22:26 GMT73
I see in the current "Popular Science" magazine they show a Nikon D70 as
being an "under $1000.00 digital SLR".   Any other info on it?  There
has been so much posted on the Canon Digital Rebel, but I don't think
I've heard of the Nikon offering.
Kodak has an archival inkjet paper31 Jan 2004 13:42 GMT8
It's only a press release but the claim is 100 years and that they take
into account more than light fading. I hope this is something big yellow can
make money on.

After recently aquiring Minolta's Dimage Scan Dual III film scanner,
I've been able to post more pics on my gallery page.  The executive
summary is that it's an awesome deal, and scans quite well.  I'll soon
be writing a review on it, so check back in a bit...

flash compansation with pentax mz-5n31 Jan 2004 00:02 GMT3
Can you do automatic flash exposure compensation with the Pentax MZ-5n
(ZX-5n in the US) using a dedicated Centon flash? What I mean, is what
happens if I set the exposure compensation dial to -1 when shooting with a
flash? Will I get an uniformly underexposed picture, will it ...

Auto-Focus 10130 Jan 2004 20:49 GMT4
Can someone explain to me how most of today's auto-focus cameras work
(infra-red?), or can you aim me to a good tutorial?  I'm specifically
interested in how the Nikon F4 works.  I couldn't find much on the web,
though I'm sure that it's there somewhere.  Thanks all!

Used AE-1 & tripod30 Jan 2004 20:34 GMT1
I found in an ad somewhere a used Canon AE-1 with telephoto lens (don't know
which one yet) plus a tripod 'Dash' for 30 euros!... Now I know this camera
is a very old model and I am not familiar with the make of the tripod, but
isn't this price too good to be true ? I mean I had a ...
New Virus= Heads up30 Jan 2004 18:59 GMT43
I realize that most people here are sophosticated enough to keep the
virus protection up. I just recieved 6 new e-mails all with a new worm.
It is W32.Novarg.A@mm and looks like a variant of the crap we went
through a few months ago (then my inbox was at 800+ e-mails/day).

IThis is a bit of a long shot, but I'll ask anyway!
My daughter has a Canon 30E which has taken it into its head to rewind
partway through a film.
This has happened at various points from 6 shots to 30!
