Everyone chooses their own poison. TIA for not reminding me I paid
through the nose to feature my work there. I'm posting to ask if
anyone 1) knows anything about the actual physical location of this
operation; and 2) has horror stories to share about them. (Verizon

Is there software out there to manipulate quantization tables or     spoof another camera?22 Nov 2008 02:10 GMT15
I just bought a new Nikon D90 camera -- the first higher-end consumer
camera I've ever had. A friend of mine was telling me that every
picture I took can be traced back not only to my camera, but to
roughly when I took it -- not on the date and time in the EXIF data,
Quick question ???21 Nov 2008 23:06 GMT72

I think I have the answer, the guy wants attention, he wants recognition,
respect even. As far as I can see he is doing spectacularly well in drawing
out responses from loads of people.  He does seem to be good at what he is
doing. Why don't lots of us admit that he's good and ...

Is there information in a JPG file that I upload from my digital
camera that says what degree of compression has been used to write
it ?

Black and White21 Nov 2008 16:24 GMT29
Sometimes, when reviewing my shots, I see on that I think will be more
effective in black and white.  I shot some today that I have been
messing around with to this end.  (I won't link to them for fear of
offending the sensibilities of my friend who thinks that photos that

aware of dropping it etc. and batteries are ok.
My DLSR is a P&S21 Nov 2008 10:56 GMT46
I switch it on, point and shoot. Most of the time I don't waste time
playing with the settings.

P & S cameras21 Nov 2008 08:20 GMT110
I own a P&S and an SLR, each has its uses.  Recently I could'nt help but see
all these threads that revolve around the question of which type of camera
is "better".  Personally I do not see that this is a question that has any
sense as the two types of camera are designed for ...

of the white building is bad, bad, bad.
Which free software could acquire 48 bits color depth pictures from a scanner ?20 Nov 2008 21:13 GMT157
I need to scan some old films using a 48 bits color depth (in order to keep
the quality after some graphical process).
My Canon CS5200F does it well but none of my graphical softwares can handle
48 bits picture.
