Why all the noise about noise?30 Sep 2009 14:59 GMT1

beat myself up or toss the image? Is it really that terminal to have

I have recently gone back to photography after an absence of 15 years or so.
My previous hobby was usually pictures of flowers, leaves and insects
typically with Kodachrome 64. I find that digital photography is not as
challenging because it is so easy to change the exposure and ...
Panasonic's contrast focusing puts them miles ahead of any     competition29 Sep 2009 05:58 GMT29
Sony and Samsung are now talking about going with a mirror-less
interchangeable lens camera.  But the focusing system in the
Panasonic's is better than anything in DSLRs at the moment.  If there
is a large shift to mirror-less systems, companies like Nikon which

Think P&S's only suck at high ISO?27 Sep 2009 20:00 GMT28
Think again.  Here's a $600 Canon Powershot SX1 versus an Olympus
E-620 ($799, two zoom lens kit) at 200 ISO.

Playing back still pictures on that camera gives me all shooting
information on the monitor for 3 seconds and then they disappear. I
don't want to display that info at all when I am going through my
pictures. Do you know how I can adjust that feature on this camera? 3

I am a newbie, so please tell me if this question is inappropriate
for this newsgroup.

Used Canon lens prices seem too high26 Sep 2009 15:37 GMT18
I was looking at getting a EF-s 17-85 IS lens. B&H has the import

if Canon won't honor the warranty, which is sufficient for me).
On craigslist, I found someone selling one for $340, and I offered $300

If I keep some Kodak low self discharge AA cells in my car, how
would the high temperatures effect the self discharge rate of the
cells?  Thank you in advance for all replies.
