Canon PowerShot SX10 IS - any good?11 Jun 2009 01:08 GMT42
I am close to gettinga bridge camera (and no not wanting a DSLR).
So whilst they all look similar, according to Dpreview, I like the look of
this because of the movable LCD screen and the current drop in prices plus a
Canon cashback.
How common are plug-in charge leads for small digicam10 Jun 2009 21:32 GMT2
I got my subcompact Casio Exilim Z60 a couple of years ago.
It's been irritating to take the battery out for charging. (My
digicam has some problem and doesn't hold the date/time for 20
seconds.)
Does anybody have an answer?10 Jun 2009 13:47 GMT18
Reading all the mess about DP2, and expectations on Olympus, and the
dissatisfaction of many (or at least me) with the building philosophy
of present day digital cameras, I came up with a thought.
Camera world seems a bit like the world of computing these days.
Why EVFs will replace reflex systems10 Jun 2009 09:54 GMT56
Aside from the sensor (and in the case of 4/3rds it's possible the
sensor come second) the most expensive parts in a DSLR are the mirror
mechanism and the pentaprism.  By getting rid of these and replacing
them with an EVF, they eliminate a large amount of cost.  Particularly
Light Meter Repair10 Jun 2009 05:46 GMT1
I have an old Sekonic Flashmate L3088 light meter which lost its incident
light metering hemisphere, or at least most of it.  The slider is still
there.
I bought a new slider / hemisphere (about $40CDN) and am trying to figure
Ungrateful Olympus10 Jun 2009 03:21 GMT4
They made a big to do about inviting all the "photographic
journalists" to Germany to view the new E-1P unveiling but no mention
was made about the people who keep Olympus afloat, the users.  The
journalists of the photographic world have not exactly embraced

The author of that article talks about a "civil contract" in
photography.
What is he talking about?

Olympus u4/3rds, an overpriced bust in the making?09 Jun 2009 00:56 GMT12
$1000 for the body, no viewfinder, of any kind.  And no excuse for not
having a viewfinder because the camera does not lack for space.  To me
(especially given the poor resolution performance of the latest 12 meg
Olympus cameras) there is no reason to buy it over the G1 or GH1
Problem Transferring Photos to PC08 Jun 2009 23:50 GMT6
I have been using a 4GB SDHC with a Samsung ES55.  The card had been
previously formatted with another Digital Camera (Canon Digital
Rebel).  I am able to view all of the saved images on the camera, but
when connecting to the PC (either through a card reader or directly

Changing File Date08 Jun 2009 21:04 GMT12
I've got a Kodak Z612, and the date was not set correctly.  Is there any
way to change the date on the files now that they are on my pc (Windows
XPHome)?
Thanks.
