I've been using a nice Minolta with Fuji ASA 100 film and a modest telephoto lens. I've occasionalyl gotten some very decent nature photos, but have had trouble getting the hnag of exposure times - and it costs more and more to develop "experiments".

Are there any sites that would rate the basic lenses for Canon, I looked at DPs reviews ratings. Would the Canon EF 50mm 1.4 usm be about as sharp as you can get without spending the highest dollar, and would it even make a notable difference. How would a Canon EF 20mm

I'm using photoshop elements 7. I understand what the Dodge and Burn tools do and have used them often to improve a photo but it's not clear what the Sponge tool does. How what the sponge tool be used to improve a photo?

Learned a lot here in the last few days and now the questions begs? Why non-correlating “everything” in photography printing? The popular analog P/S camera’s negative ratio 4:3 (1.33) never did “FIT the old standard printed photo size of 3 x 5 (1.6).

I am just trying out the trial of Photomatix but wondered if there is any free stuff out there. Easy to use for a beginner and I don't have PhotoShop just PSP and Ulead software. Ken
