Varible ND Filter?28 Feb 2009 14:05 GMT13
Looking for advise on shooting helicopters at air shows using a one lens/one
body setup.
Basically, when shooting jets I stick it in AV or manual and there's no
problem.  However, the problem comes when switching to shutter priority and
Sigma APO 1.4 Tele Converter28 Feb 2009 01:09 GMT1
Been using a Sigma 18-200 OS and a Tamron 70-300 for awhile now. ( The
Tamron harks from my film days ) In the interests of global cooling I
decided too save energy by not carrying the 70-300 around with me,
instead I opted to buy the Sigma 1.4 Tele Converter EX DG. If the 18-200 ...

Check out this image flaw27 Feb 2009 05:24 GMT7
This appeared in only one shot from yesterday.  Don't know if it's sensor
related or a write error with the CF card.  Hasn't recurred.

Anyone ever see a picture of a 50mm fixed Iens (Industar from Russia)

Help with specific picture26 Feb 2009 19:19 GMT10
I am trying to take a picture of a pair of scissors. I have scissors on a
piece of white paper.
When I transfer to my PC the white paper is bluish and the glare on the
(metal) scissors usually ruins the shot.
Opinions Sought on P&S26 Feb 2009 10:00 GMT7
I'm pretty happy with my current DSLR setup but find myself wanting a decent P&S to keep in my pocket for those times when taking the DSLR along isn't practical.
My budget is about $280
I'm not overly concerned about manual control (if I really need 'em, I'll bring the DSLR)

Beware of Rocky Cameras, UK26 Feb 2009 01:36 GMT53
UK ebay seller, trading as rockycamera (formerly member446885), also has
a website www.rockycameras.com. This is not just a problem for UK
buyers, the scam artist will happily ship to the US and worldwide.
He buys in used cameras and lenses in bulk and performs no proper checks

What are some places one can post photographs for critique?  Sites
where the critiques have some teeth, but where the critiques are
mostly constructive?

Canon S70 & flash25 Feb 2009 19:12 GMT1
The Users Guide apparently indicates that Auto Flash (ability for it to
flash as needed) is available on most modes.  However it is not
available on TV, AV, M, or C.  Reference is to pages 38 Using the Flash
and 174, Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode.
Trying to locate a copyright infringement case25 Feb 2009 13:52 GMT5
A few years ago I read about a copyright infringement case but I lost
the details and now I can't find a cite to this case.  The details:
A photographer had a stock photo of a woman on the beach at sunset, with
the sun peeking thru between her legs, forming a "starburst.  A band
