Photoshop help23 Jan 2009 16:04 GMT28
I need to get help learning Photoshop.
I have PS CS2. I've used it ... a very lot. But I need to learn
it properly. I have decided to upgrade to CS5 when it comes
out, skipping 3 and 4.
Audible noise from Sigma 18-200 OS HSM lens23 Jan 2009 15:40 GMT2
I already posted this question in rec.photo.digital.slr-systems, but to
reach a wider audience, let me post it this here too, sorry if it is
considered a double-post.
I don't know if I should be worried or not. I just came back from my
Lcd screen - when?23 Jan 2009 11:17 GMT4
I think that eventually you will be able to buy a single lens digital camera
with an LCD screen which is truly usable in bright sunlight, has enough
resolution and reacts fast enough to be suitable for manual focusing and
will brighten the view when the depth of field preview ...
Photosynth at the inauguration23 Jan 2009 09:41 GMT14
CNN on the Obama inauguration showcased a piece of Microsoft software
called Photosynth. It looks like a dynamic Pano/Mosaic photo processing package.
It reminds me of the approach a package I once used called autostitch
There is a link on the following URL to download Photosynth.

Will changing the media card speed the storing of data in DSLR?       always?22 Jan 2009 16:17 GMT4
I have a Sandisk Ultra II CF card. I wonder if changing into the more
expensive Extreme III or even Extreme IV card will speed the storing
process into the camera just after shooting?  The camera is well known
for being very sluggish, and I am curious if paying extra more money
Questions about scanning my negatives as my output looks greenish!22 Jan 2009 11:36 GMT6
I have some questions about scanning my negatives as my output looks

I am using an old but still good Flatbed Linotype Hell scanner with

Photoshop CS4 hardware question22 Jan 2009 04:33 GMT5
I'm planning on building a PC dedicated to Photoshop CS4 and the latest
Lightroom.  I'm told that for a workflow that does not depend on
continuous coffee breaks to allow the machine to crunch image data, a
very powerful machine is requisite.  I'm told that a 64 bit system with

I was looking for this software and found out that the company that made
it has gone out of business.
Does anyone know of a similar program that is freeware?
Overcoming insufficient permissions for PDF image extraction to JPEG21 Jan 2009 05:02 GMT30
How do I save a PDF diagram to JPG using  when I get the Adobe Acrobat
6.0 Standard error: File->Save As, Save as type = JPEG, "Insufficient
permissions for image extraction"?
The original is a BMW shop manual that I paid $100 for the CDROM.
Canon 40D / 28-135 autofocus problems - it keeps hunting20 Jan 2009 20:03 GMT3
I have a few questions that I couldn't find the answer on the net...
I got a 40D with the kit lens (28-135mm) about a year ago. Recently on
several occasions I had significant problem focusing - the AF just
keeps hunting back and forth.  This usually happens around the highest
focus issues - Canon A63020 Jan 2009 11:49 GMT12
Whilst taking this photo:

I had difficulty with focus. Indeed, this example
is not "dead" focused, although you'd need to pixel-peek the original
