USB Flash Drive31 Dec 2008 23:56 GMT36
Now that USB Flash Drives are quite cheap, ($19 for 16g at Fry's) they
are looking more attractive as backup.
I have a laptop and desktop.  They both run Windows XP and are connected
in a wireless lan.  I keep the files on both computers synced with

Great Photographers on the Net31 Dec 2008 12:39 GMT1
For those who haven't seen this classic page,  I get a charge every
time I read it:

It's a parody, of course, but shows what happens all too often when
Waterproof cameras, which one?31 Dec 2008 12:07 GMT5
I have just sold one of my D-SLRs and am looking to get another waterproof
camera. The one I currently use is a cheap one with an underwater housing
that is good to 10 metres, it will take a reasonable shot as long as all the
planets are aligned.
d90 low iso30 Dec 2008 23:59 GMT8
I'm sure there is a simple answer to my question and I'd like to hear it.
ISO on the D90 starts at 200, BUT it can also be set to 100.  So why not say
it starts at 100?  Is there something about the 100 setting that means its
not really 100?  I'm baffled.
d90 d80 jpeg raw observation30 Dec 2008 22:04 GMT9
Enjoying my new D90 and still finding things that are'nt in the manual.
When I used to have my D80 I would shoot in JPEG and RAW then tinker around
with the RAW before converting it to a JPEG.  50% of the time the JPEGs
produced  by D80 were better and that would be the ones that ...

Looked at Nikon D90 and Canon XSi29 Dec 2008 22:26 GMT6
I just briefly looked at both of these cameras.  I did like the menu
system of the Canon better.  It seemed easier to use.  I also liked the
fact that when you held is eye level and looked thru the finder the LCD
turned off.  I did not like the position of the shutter release and ...

When It's All Said and Done29 Dec 2008 11:38 GMT7
When you compare 16x20 prints printed on an Epson 3800 that were taken
with both Canon and Nikon cameras using similar lens in each zoom range
and the camera bodies were of similar mega-pixels and sensor size how much
difference in image quality (sharpness, color, noise etc) would ...

The process of storing energy in the capacitor is known as "charging",
