| Canon Powershot G7 "Unidentified image" | 27 Nov 2008 17:07 GMT | 15 |
With C1 program setting I have programed the camera to take 3 pictures (normal, under- and overexposure). Sometimes, mostly from picture no 257 in the used SD card, I get the information "Unidentified image" when trying to look at pictures on the display of the camera. Viewing

| Canon a630 - focusing issue | 27 Nov 2008 12:59 GMT | 11 |
I was doing some macro-ish photographing of a map; I was at 120mm focal length (s35mm equiv), and and around 3 1/2 foot from the subject. With the camera in "macro" focus, focusing was unreliable,

| See the reaction to Dpreview slagging a Canon product | 27 Nov 2008 01:30 GMT | 2 |
Just look at the acrimony caused by Dpreview calling a new Canon product less than "highly recommended." The canonfans have gone mad. It appears (finally) that Dpreview is now treating Canon like every other company. Maybe the Canon gravy-train to them dried up? Maybe

Get the picture? See if you are smart enough to make it out. Many points outlined below completely disprove your usual resident-troll bullshit. You can either read it and educate yourself, or don't read it and

| Black and White | 26 Nov 2008 13:44 GMT | 40 |
Sometimes, when reviewing my shots, I see on that I think will be more effective in black and white. I shot some today that I have been messing around with to this end. (I won't link to them for fear of offending the sensibilities of my friend who thinks that photos that

| linux book scanner | 26 Nov 2008 09:43 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking to scan a reasonable number (100's) of books (legally). I've got an opticbookplus scanner, but it's slow and very hard on the books. So I bought an old plenary/overhead camera book scanner. After a bunch of diagnostic bills, turns out I was sold a dud :). And new ...

| Looking for a nice purse camera for not a lot of money | 26 Nov 2008 09:36 GMT | 7 |
I'd like to take pretty decent photos ( I'm not a pro or anything ) with a small light weight camera that I can keep in my purse. I want something better than my Blackberry's camera, yet not super expensive, heavy or bulky, because it does have to fit the purse.

I want to start experimenting with neutral density filters and I was hoping to get some advice on what brands, transmittance / f-stop reduction. I am not 100% certain of how the rating scale works. Some are measured in attenuation factor, f-Stop reduction and

| people who have used CHDK | 25 Nov 2008 16:09 GMT | 82 |
I was wondering what is the experience of people who have used CHDK (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ). In your view, does the increased access to camera hardware and other features worthwhile the effort to get it working in a camera? Any stories to tell?

| Minolta Z6 Safe Sync | 25 Nov 2008 13:09 GMT | 4 |
I would like to use my old but reliable Rollie Vivitar ect.Flash Units with this camera but the trigger voltage is about 80V and the hot shoe is unique to KM. Digital cameras can't stand these high voltages. There Are Safe Sync Adapters out there but can't find anything for the Z6.
