A curly question31 Oct 2008 12:51 GMT26
I intend to produce a gazillion 6" x 4" booklets of family photographs
as Christmas presents. In one sense, the ideal way is to print these
on roll paper in my Epson 1800. A problem is that the Epson roll paper
seems to retain its curl for ever. I would be grateful for any

The Answer My Friend Is blowing In The Wind!!28 Oct 2008 16:15 GMT7
Even on a brisk windy and rainy day there's no stopping the pursuit of
perfection.  And yes, the D3 was there.

What is Slow Shutter setting on TZ128 Oct 2008 15:24 GMT1
I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ1.  It has settings for Slow Shutter with
values of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1.  The normal setting is 1/8.  I'm
wondering if selecting a slower value affects other operations.  Like,
the flash not being used until the light level is even lower since a

Cleaning internal schmutz from zooms27 Oct 2008 21:43 GMT12
Do I have to send an 18-200 lens back to Nikon to get internal schmutz
cleaned from it? Or is there another service that people have used to
fix this?
I've got some dust ghosts in there I can't get rid of, and when I took
Is there an "Audacity" for video?27 Oct 2008 15:29 GMT9
I notice that my little digital camera can produce short video clips.
Unfortunately, it produces them all in QuickTime format, a proprietary format
that not everyone can read.  Is there a freeware program similar to the
Audacity program for audio that can do simple editing of video ...
JT's Keeper's Stringpod - pretty good.27 Oct 2008 11:58 GMT19
I tried the 'stringpod' as suggested by "JT's Keeper" and the result is
better than hand held alone.  (2-3 stops worth).
1/10 s at a FL of 50mm (cropped sensor eq: 75mm) so 7.5x (3 stops)
slower than 'rule of thumb' speed.  Anti-shake was 'off'.
UV multi-coated filter27 Oct 2008 03:23 GMT1
I recently got a Sigma 77mm DG UV-blocking and multi-coated filter for
my wide-angle lens. I've taken a few photos with it and am quite
satisfied with the image quality. The only question I have is that
this filter seems a little difficult to clean. I heard that B+W

Gist of article, give up your hand gun, and get a Henry's gift card. Hmmm If
I had a .357 I think I could get any camera I want. The idea is pretty
stupid, as no gang banger ...

carryover of customized settings?25 Oct 2008 18:09 GMT1

If I activate real (natural) color in Program, will this also apply
more about the camera design I would like to have25 Oct 2008 14:22 GMT52
In the previous thread, I coined the term "single lens direct" or "single lens
display" or "SLD" to refer to my design.  A summary of the design:
1.  The viewfinder that is normally viewing through the taking lens via a
flip-up mirror, ground glass focusing screen, and a ...
