Web site for cell phone camera images11 Aug 2008 10:00 GMT6
I need to get a new cell phone.  I am thinking of getting a LG
vx8100 which has a 1.3 mega pixel camera. I would like to see some
pictures taken with it so that I can see how good they look.
Does anyone know where I can find some?  Thank you in advance for

What I want is a USB external hard disk (possibly firewire and/or
network as well), but with a display, so that I don't have to fire up
the computer every time I just want to look at some photos. If it comes
with some catalogue software, then that'd be even better.
Advent Card Reader: No Win 98 Driver10 Aug 2008 23:48 GMT24
I got an Advent ADE-RDR01 all in one card reader, which is supposed to
work with Windows 98 according to the box.
There is no driver for Windows 98 and it doesn't seem to be possible
to find one anywhere.

Suggestions for a *simple* point and shoot10 Aug 2008 16:34 GMT14
Following my questions about where to buy a D3, I now have another issue
- at the other end of the camera spectrum.
I'd like to buy my wife, who is retired, a point and shoot camera, but
she is not at all technical and has a strong dislike of gadgets. Ideally
Shattered lens filter...10 Aug 2008 05:54 GMT1
Protected the front element on my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR... I have NO
idea how it shattered. Everything was intact and put away properly after
using it on 8/8/08 (photographed the Neville Brothers), I was getting
ready to photograph Martin Sexton (tonight 8/9/08) when I ...

Pixel counts in P&S's should have been held to 5 megapixels09 Aug 2008 17:41 GMT10
Seeing way better highlight retention from a 9 year old, 1.3 megapixel
P&S compared to a new 10 megapixel model convinced me of that.
The marketers of this junk should be shot.

Unfortunate for P&S09 Aug 2008 14:38 GMT83
Many point and shoot cameras including Canon are being released with
nice features and wider to longer zoom lenses but without viewfinders.
Being sold with larger 3" LCDs, the mfg claim they are much improved and
have good visibility in bright sunlight.
Nikon Scan vs Vuescan, Nikon Scan smears detail, why (0/1)09 Aug 2008 03:52 GMT3
I have a Coolscan IV with Nikon Scan and I have been trying out
Vuescan recently. For default settings, Nikon Scan gives scans that
seem more natural and pleasing to me, but when I blow up detail,
Vuescan seems superior. I am attaching a crop of an XKE wire wheel as
