Friend is looking for a really good P&S16 Aug 2008 20:18 GMT69
-Fast shutter response.
-Low high ISO noise.
-High dynamic range.
When I stop laughing, I'll tell him there is no such thing.
Why no such thing as a USB drive that can download to itself from a     camera?16 Aug 2008 13:00 GMT1
I hate carrying memory cards because:
CFs need cases to keep stuff out of the connector.
SDs are too small to keep in a pocket and are likely delicate, though
I haven't broken one in half.
Response from Nikon on their piss-take upgrade to D3.16 Aug 2008 06:58 GMT59
I sent the following to Nikon about the D3 Buffer Memory Expansion
option. Their response is below. I know there were a few spelling errors
in my original post, but I've copied exactly what I sent them, and their
response.
CoolPix 995 Connectivity Issues15 Aug 2008 15:39 GMT10
So the other day I decide to haul out my first digital camera, the Nikon
CoolPix 995, a device I'd not used in some three years, to photograph
several fossils to include at one of my paleontology web pages.
After the shoot, I hooked the 995 to the USB port (using the cable that came

Hello. I have been wanting to sell my prints for a while now. I just
wanted a little advice of how to do it from someone that has done it
or has an idea of how to do it.
Thank you for any help.
Opinions of online photo printing15 Aug 2008 02:53 GMT4
Until recently I had a high opinion of Kodak Ofoto for printing routine
4x6s rapidly at decent quality . They seem to have to have slowed down
recently and no longer have a pickup location convenient for me. I am
going to try RitzPix today even if they charge a little more. I ...
camera that can do remote capture with computer14 Aug 2008 22:13 GMT8
I'm planning on using a digital camera as a document scanner, since
it's much faster than a regular scanner. I need a digital camera that
can do remote capture with a computer via USB. Can someone provide a
list of point and shoot digital cameras (or camera series) that have

coolpix 990 ?14 Aug 2008 18:14 GMT2
I've upgraded from a 950 to a 990, big enough jump for me.  I bought the
950 new in 2000 for around $900.00 and got this 990 used for $75.00.
Good deal but now I need to get a bigger CF card and wonder what are
some good big sizes and how big can I go.  Are there any down falls?
P&S CRAP nothing more now than marketing "contests" between makers14 Aug 2008 17:04 GMT32
Disgusting.  Look at the sensor size, then look at the pixel count.

Photographing Where No Electricity Source14 Aug 2008 16:40 GMT53
Anyone had any experience with photographing for over a week where there is
no electricity.
I am guessing that the two main options are to take a lot of charged
batteries, or maybe the safest way would be to take film bodies instead.
Avoid doing business with Rolland Elliot !!!!!!!!!!14 Aug 2008 12:30 GMT8
Avoid Rolland Elliot !!! He had my lens for seven months, during which
he told me he sent it to me (it never came, no tracking number, no
insurance). Then he said it must have gotten lost in the mail, he would
find another lens to put a chip in for me. I called him, he said he

digital film recoders...who has a laser graphics mark VI?13 Aug 2008 20:28 GMT3
Digital film recoders are used for transferring digital images to 35mm
color slide film or to negative B&W.
I want to use them in a diffent application. In particular, I want to
use them to produce transmission diffraction gratings with a line
