| Computer won't recognise 4GB cards | 19 Aug 2008 07:17 GMT | 5 |
My computer is several years old and works fine so I don't want to replace it yet. It has a multi card reader built in, and I've always downloaded my digital images this way. It won't recognise cards larger than 2GB, and I understand that such cards use the FAT 32

| Focus question | 19 Aug 2008 04:01 GMT | 2 |
I have just acquired a Nikon 28-200mm D lens cheap. I've taken a few shots and it's sharp. My question is, today I went outside with it on my N80 film camera for the first time to take some cloud formation shots. I have the camera set to single area focus in the center of the ...

| More fun with the Leica M8 | 18 Aug 2008 22:50 GMT | 26 |
OK, I think it's time to nominate the Leica M8 as "Turkey of the Decade." http://photo.net/leica-rangefinders-forum/00QTrU Aparently, if you mount this thing on a tripod and shoot vertically, it falls apart. Yes, really.

| Why do Nikon bother producing 'non-printable' manuals?? | 18 Aug 2008 20:48 GMT | 66 |
I wanted to get an electronic version of the D3's manual. I get to a page: http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqi d=14438 where it says:

| DSLR vs. P&S Smackdown -- the Answer | 18 Aug 2008 17:18 GMT | 106 |
It may be kind of anti-climactic by now, but I've updated the website at http://www.classtech.com/DSLR_PS_Smackdown to show the original out-of-the-camera JPEG's. A summary of the EXIF data is under the mid resolution original pictures and the full EXIF data is embedded in

| Sony DCS-F1: newbie gets a free present | 18 Aug 2008 02:17 GMT | 5 |
Newbie alert. I have inherited an old Sony DSC-F1 digital camera. Although it is an old model, it seems to be well made and would be ideal as my first camera, for taking the odd holiday snap etc. However, there are some problems:

Here's a comparison of a couple of shots from the Olympics, one taken with a Canon and the other with a D3: http://timesonline.typepad.com/olympictures/2008/08/2-frames---same.html The D3 shot is underexposed and has incorrect white balance! How can that

| Question about 300mm Nikon lens | 17 Aug 2008 13:05 GMT | 2 |
300mm f3.5. Looks like a smaller f2.8. It's not in the Nikon Compendium. Does anyone know when this lens was released? It's older, manual focus.

| Printing: Is there any diff between Duane Reade, CVS and Walgreens? | 17 Aug 2008 02:41 GMT | 2 |
I need some prints. Since "going digital", I literally haven't printed a thing. I'm not asking about high-end printing, just a decent 8x10 print from a well-exposed jpg file. I've never used "drug store" printing. I've got Duane Reade, CVS and

| Photoshop CS3 | 17 Aug 2008 00:37 GMT | 4 |
In Bridge that comes with Photoshop CS3, you have the option to 'reject' a file instead of deleting it. If you later decide you want to keep that file, how do you 'un-reject' it. I order CS3 to be delivered online so I don't have a CS3 manual and 'help' does not address

| Anyone tried 16 GB flash cards in a Nikon D3 ? | 16 Aug 2008 21:48 GMT | 55 |
I know the spec on the camera says it has been tested with a number of compact flash cards between 1 and 8 GB, but has anyone tried the camera with 16 GB cards? If so, can the D3 address all 16 GB?
