Image size, aspec ratio?06 Jun 2008 15:12 GMT3
I have a GIF image with an aspect ratio of about 2:1 that I want to
place 4 copies onto a standard 4X6 drugstore print so each image is
about 2 inches by 1 inch. Each 4X6 print will contain 4 identical
images measuring about 1 by 2.

Any easy way to convert avi to panorama jpg??04 Jun 2008 20:26 GMT4
I'm sure there's gotta be a way ... to take 4 or 5 avi frames and
AUTOMATICALLY stitch them to produce a regular panorama jpg.  Any
clues would be appreciated.  (The operative word is EASY)
Alas.  As a last resort, perhaps there's a program which will convert
printing images using gimp04 Jun 2008 15:10 GMT2
I am using GIMP 2.2.6 under Debian Linux, with gimp-print. My printer is
an old HP DeskJet 1120C.
The print function does work... but quality is not at top, by a long shot.
Contrast is not good, and colours are kind of miserable, at least, if I

I shoot at highest my camera's resolution (~7 meg) and move image files to
my PC.
I would like to quickly reduce (one click or batch) some of the stored
images to much lower resolution for e-mailing, etc.
Photo book publishing - reccomendations?03 Jun 2008 19:03 GMT3
I'm looking at those online book publishing services for photographs

photographs.
I've looked around have been given advice that the following are
"Photoshopping" (or gimping) and truth-in-advertising03 Jun 2008 14:30 GMT85
I am learning slowly the various capabilities of image editing program
GIMP. Which looks to be a very nice program. My question is how much
editing would you say is acceptable, from the standpoint of
truthfulness in advertising.

Strange Nikon D80 behavior, Summary covering image view03 Jun 2008 10:05 GMT11
Something strange started happening a few days ago. I am sure that it
is due to me changing some settings, but I do not know which one.
As you know, after taking a picture I would see it on the screen for a
few seconds.
dimage scan02 Jun 2008 21:56 GMT3
I just brought a Dimage Scan Elite 5400 second hand so that I can scan about
1000 negatives.  My aim would be to have scans that will be suitable to
print at 7" by 6", sometimes 8" by 12".  It takes ages to make scans becasue
of my old computer, so I am thinking of scanning at ...

Please ID this lens for me!01 Jun 2008 14:05 GMT3
I've just found in the back of a drawer a lens attachment for my old
digital camera (which I sold a year or so back).  I'd completely
forgotten I had this lens, and as it's complete with mount for the old
camera, it's not much use to me and I may as well try and ebay it and
