I have a Fuji Finepix 602 camera. I took maybe 10k photos with it. It started malfunctioning in the following way: very often it shuts down, as if the batteries were bad, except that it does it even with newly charged batteries and even new non-rechargeable batteries.

While many consider the flood of spam the only threat to the group, I think the flamers and foul-mouthed posts are just as much of a threat. It got pretty bad a few years ago but then people cleaned up their act and things cooled down. Can't we just disagree with folks in a civil

My sanyo camera takes 2 AA batteries..there is no charger for it..only rechargable batteries.. Is this good or bad? never had a digital before.

Who thinks that the long term trend will be towards full frame DSLRs and away from the C size sensor. If that is the case then one should never consider buying a DX or EF-S lens since they cannot work on a full frame. And if you have both should you not purchase

I just bought a Sigma 52 mm circular polarizer filter for my D50 kit lens, the 18-55 mm one. I understand the operation of it and using it outside near the ocean but does it make a difference indoors? I mounted it between my lens and a UV filter that I use mainly for protection. ...

Every digital camera I have ever owned creates a folder on the card which is called DCIM. What does that mean? I might guess that DC means digital camera, but what's IM? Just curious.

I had a 2gig SD card that showed 'card error' and I tried to retrieve the pictures off it using a multi-format (CF, SD, etc) card reader (Dazzle) attached to my USB port. No luck. Tried lots of downloads of software to try to retrieve the pictures. No luck. Got a 4gig Sandisk ...
