Report on Yahoo digital photography04 Apr 2008 15:27 GMT4
I joined the Yahoo discussion group on Digital Photography a couple of
weeks ago and promised I'd make a report after using it awhile.
There is no spam.  The discussions are generally much the same as rpd,
though a bit smaller in number.  Also, there is none of the juvenile
Is there an Exifer-like program to do batch edits?03 Apr 2008 15:46 GMT9
Hi, I have thousands of scanned images stored as JPEGs as well as
thousands of digital camera images also stored as JPEGs. Nearly all
of them have only the EXIF that is automatically created. For scans,
that is nothing while for digitals, it is whatever the camera
Hint for freeware batch EXIF rename program for JPEG files03 Apr 2008 11:13 GMT3
I was digging around for a freeware batch EXIF rename program when I
belatedly realized Irfanview does a wonderful job of batch EXIF renaming of
JPEG photos and I just wanted others to know that this was possible.
Here's my hint (you may already know this ... if so, sorry for the
Brand new Canon XSi with 18-55mm IS lens02 Apr 2008 19:24 GMT5
Picked up a new XSi body and the new amazing kit lens with image
stabilization yesterday. Everything seems to be working great as far
as I can tell. It's fun to take hand-holds inside at 1/8 sec and have
them come out sharp.
applying same "levels" correction to multiple images with GIMP02 Apr 2008 17:59 GMT2
If I adjust the levels using the "pick gray point" tool, how can I
repeat this same adjustment on multiple images?  The "Save" button
under "All Channels" seems to save the values set via the "Output
Levels" sliders, which I haven't set.
How can I remove the dust which came inside my lens ?02 Apr 2008 17:45 GMT31
A few weeks ago, I noticed that there was some dust on my lens (this
is the original zoom provided with the Nikon D70 camera) so I used a
really bad quality rag (I did not know it was so bad as this time) to
clean the lens.
Micro / Macro question?02 Apr 2008 13:55 GMT17
I need to photograph small objects at a distance of 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) from
the lens. I want a magnification of ~50 to 100.
Photomicrography (using microscopes) is limited in the working distance from
the objective; it needs to be <1 inch. Photomacrography is limited in the
exif information canon g902 Apr 2008 07:28 GMT3
Just brought a Canon GP and shoot in RAW, then convert to  TIFF then finally
JPEG.  However, all the EXIF information dissapears.  Whta can I do to make
sure it's there with the final image?
B&W photos...over exposed01 Apr 2008 15:37 GMT8
Greeting group!
I had recently posted about a diy background cloth, which I got a
black cloth--looks great and looking forward to more pics. Well, we're
using B&W film for all our exposures (for a university class I'm
Abuse and intimidation of London photographer01 Apr 2008 14:30 GMT47

Photographer Gets Citation For Privacy Violation!!01 Apr 2008 13:49 GMT14
It was bound to happen!  I never thought that I would get cited for privacy
violations and have my CF card confiscated.  I don't know how it happened,
but I accidentally handed over the wrong card.  Oh well, at least I got to
keep my images.  BASTARDS!!!!
Why Are Lecia 6MP cameras so damn Expensive?01 Apr 2008 12:08 GMT19
Is Lecia the Lamboghini of everything photographic?  I understand they
make the best of the best when it comes to film based equipment but
$300+ for a 6MP camera while a Sony Cybershot comes in around $100?
What am I missing?

How to remove crease from photo?01 Apr 2008 05:01 GMT58
I have a photo that was folded in half, unfortunately,
and I wonder if either Photoshop and/or The GIMP are
able to remove this crease.
Thank you for any assistance.
