Is it necessary/desirable to reformat a XD picture card each time its been
used to download pics from digital camera to pc?

I need to synchronize 4 flashes. Infared, Optical and radio not
allowed. Just wire or sync cord connections. Too much interference
from others and other things. So wire is the only option.

Brought my first DSLR yesterday, a 2nd hand Nikon D80. When I shoot in jpeg
I have files that are around 3-4MB in size, which is just right for my
computer.  The problem starts when I try shooting in RAW, because when I
finally convert the RAW file to a jpeg it is about 22MB.
