is it possible to manually change the focus in AF mode with a Nikkor     55-200mm VR?08 Feb 2008 16:50 GMT10
I was considering the 55-200mm VR lens from Nikon as a not so
expensive telezoom.
After reading the specs and  some review on the web (e.g.

DSC W55: image smaller while viewing photos08 Feb 2008 16:38 GMT2
In a Sony DSC W55, while viewing photos in playback mode, the photo is
not being shown in full screen mode -- it is displayed, say, in only 50%
or so of the screen. Anybody having experience with this camera knows
why? Or if this is normal?
what's wrong with Sony? multi connector cables now?08 Feb 2008 15:48 GMT2
Just helping a friend understand his new Sony DSC-W55 digital camera. I
just realized that it doesn't come with the usual USB mini plug but with
a "multi connector" socket and a corresponding cable.
Why does Sony do that? Now one can't assume to use a friend's USB cable
Nikon 18-55 VR08 Feb 2008 15:15 GMT2
I have been using the non VR 18-55 and have been generally happy with
the results.  But have had several shots that later would have benefited
from VR.
Any one here have any experience with this new lens?  Is the VR useful

Nikon d80 -- still good?08 Feb 2008 07:21 GMT11
I'm in the market for a DSLR and had a look at the Nikon d80 at the
store the other day.
It looks like a great camera, and feels (albeit still a bit small),
perfect in my hands.. With a rugged construction and good weight..

Formatting a USB 2 Thumb Drive08 Feb 2008 01:32 GMT12
I recently bought a Kingston 4GB USB 2 Thumb Drive.
I use it mainly to store Edited Pictures.
I do not NEED to format it but I CAN, with Win Xp.
Is there any advantage in formatting it in FAT 32 vs FAT 16? or vice
Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera07 Feb 2008 21:56 GMT3
Welcome to the next generation of digital SLR photography - the Canon
EOS 40D. The EOS 40D combines Canon's tremendous know-how in both the
digital and photographic worlds, creating a camera that not only does
everything one would expect of a traditional digital SLR, but one that

Biking and Photography07 Feb 2008 04:16 GMT17
I'm just getting into digital photography with a new DSLR (Nikon D40x)
and would like to take my camera out on the bike path for some nature
photography.  I'm curious as to how other photographers venture out
with their gear.  Do you recommend a handlebar pack for easy camera
