rechargeable AA NiMH instead of disposable AA lithium in Kodak Z712?20 Jan 2008 04:23 GMT43
Has anyone tried using rechargable AA NiMH batteries in a Kodak Z712
camera, please?
It takes AA lithium batteries, but those are disposable.
It also takes a KLIC-8000 battery, but those seem _much_ more

Fuji E51019 Jan 2008 12:19 GMT2
Well, I just got my new Fuji E510 from TheCameraProfessionals.com.  In a
previous post concerning the XD memory there was a question about wheter or
not this was actually a new camera or not.  Yes, it is new.  However, it
came in a plain white box with the seal opened.  Teh list of ...

Fuji S5700/S700 Battery drain when turned off18 Jan 2008 17:10 GMT3
I recently bought a Fuji S5700 (UK name for the S700) and a 2Gb SD
card.  Very nice for what I want it for, but one serious snag -
rechargable NiMh batteries completely discharge after about a day with
the camera just sitting in its case, turned off.
Missed Photo Op18 Jan 2008 16:56 GMT12
Today I drove up to Ocala and back to Orlando.  I detoured several
times along the trip to take some pictures.  As usual, when I'm
looking for photo opportunities, there wasn't much to be found.
Except one, and I missed it.  Going north on a busy highway I noticed
Loss of power downs BA Boeing18 Jan 2008 10:48 GMT9
The pilot said it was a sudden loss of power attributed to
a massive EMP as all the cell phones and digital cameras were
activated.

Read noise: get it 30x down?18 Jan 2008 07:06 GMT78
I looked through papers on sensor read noise, and it looks like all
the major contributors to it (kT and 1/f) are random.  AND, reading is
non-destructive.
And I can't combine these two statements together.  It LOOKS LIKE if
Corrupted SD card18 Jan 2008 03:59 GMT1
I have a 2 gig SD card, about a quarter filled, that crashed in my Canon S3.
When I put the card in a reader, the default Adobe Photo Downloader shows
all the photos, except the last two, just fine, but won't allow copying to
my hard disk.  I can't read the card with Windows ...

Wedding Pictures --- Dont Entrust Them To Uncle Fred17 Jan 2008 16:31 GMT7
A friend of mine asked me for advice on how he could take the pictures
at a relatives wedding to save money.
I reminded him that wedding pictures will last a lifetime, and every
minute of that special day must be captured in great detail.
