Best compact digital camera for movie mode30 Jan 2008 04:32 GMT4
I have used my Sony Cybershot DSC-W15 to make short movies for two
years - quite a few of which are on YouTube..  It saves the movies
(with mono sound) as MPEG-1 files, which are quite manageable in size
(even at 640x480 24 frames/sec).  Alas this camera has stopped working
Best file sizes for emailing photos over DIAL-UP?30 Jan 2008 04:22 GMT4
I am having some problems when receiving photos through email.  I have
a dial-up connection, as does a friend of mine and most of the time
when I get a picture from her it is often 700kb... 800kb or at times
well over a 1MB.  It takes forever for it to download.
recovering files from iomega zip drive30 Jan 2008 03:31 GMT5
Does anyone here know of any software programs (like File Rescue Plus)
that work with iomega zip drives?  The drive in question doesn't mount
as a drive letter.  The person used "media recovery" software, and
while it found the files it didn't recover them in the right format.
Canon 5D Replacement30 Jan 2008 01:15 GMT34
Looking at the announcements for PMA, only the Canon 450D, 200mm F2 and
800mm F5.6 are mentioned.  So, looks like we'll have to wait until Photokina
at the end of September for the 5D replacement to be announced.  Maybe.

Photography is not about duels among cameras and equipment. I found
this website by accident and I thought I like to share the site with
the readers of these newsgroup. Someone else had mentioned about this
site in alt.photography NG. However, I like to share it again, and

See the guy in the red shirt obscured by the flowers in the bottom

Reluctant Wedding Photographer - The Story28 Jan 2008 21:27 GMT20
I am not sure where to start.
This was a non=traditional wedding to say the least.  I arrived in New
Jersey about four hours before the wedding, and learned that it would not
be posssible to get with the bride before she arrived at the venue.
The "Digital Photography Not Permitted On Aircraft..." thread28 Jan 2008 18:49 GMT11
Wow, when you view that in 'conversational' mode it just keeps going! Don't
think I've ever seen one go so long...
And are we any the wiser because of it? :-)

My brother in law has managed to delete a complete card full of photos
after he was erroneously told that they had been copied to CD by
Walgreens.
When I looked at the card with 'Recover my photos' I could not find
