I'm planning on purchasing a Nikon D80 soon, but I just want to
make sure the following workflow is OK under Linux:
1) The camera is connected via USB and the RAW files downloaded

Canon XTi built in flash02 Jan 2008 20:37 GMT10
My Canon XTi flash flashes like a strobe light with mutiple fast flashes
when going to take a picture.  Also the flash automatically pops up even
when outside in normal daylight.  Anyone with a XTi experience this or heard
of this?  Thanks so much.
Kodak G610 Crashes MY PC02 Jan 2008 19:54 GMT3
I have had a Kodak C743 Camera for about a year.  I had the small
recharging dock connected to my PC with no problems.  I was able to
transfer etc using Kodak EasyShare software and everything was OK.
Last week I got a Kodak G610 Printer Dock as a gift.  I disconnected
Compact Digital Camera - Newbie Question02 Jan 2008 19:34 GMT12
I notice almost all compact digi cameras come with software.  Is this
software _necessary_ for downloading pix/JPEGs to PC via the USB..?
Or is the camera like my external HD which behaves just like USB
flash.
USB driver for Win98 SE02 Jan 2008 17:10 GMT18
I can't seem to locate a driver for my Win98 SE system to allow
unloading my Canon A460 pictures. The CD software that came with the
camera says I need Win2000 or higher and higher screen resolution. All
I want to do is get the pictures on the disk so I can edit them with

Nikon D50 (CHR)  problem02 Jan 2008 15:12 GMT4
I recently used my Nikon D50 abroad it was working fine for about 20

Why are my D3 NEF files SMALLER than my D2X?02 Jan 2008 11:22 GMT31
I just shot some test images today with my new Nikon D3.
I noticed that a number of .NEF images today (FX format, ISO 200, 14 bit
RAW) are 15-16mb each in size.
Two years ago I shot a number of .NEF images with my D2X that are 19-20mb
Comments please02 Jan 2008 06:51 GMT22
Ok, I know I'm probably going to regret this but....
I just got a used Nikon D200 on ebay and bought the 18-200 VR zoom
lens and here is my first set of shots taken with it on a little
walkaround tour of New Hope, PA:
Low noise: why not small sensor with fast lense?02 Jan 2008 02:35 GMT13
There are two ways to reduce noise in low light shooting. The most obvious
is to make the pixel bigger, thus making the whole sensor bigger at same
resolution. Another way is to reduce the ISO and make the lense faster. E.g.
Instead of shooting at ISO 100 F4, shoot at ISO 25 at ...
Passport photo sheet tools?02 Jan 2008 01:36 GMT2
Balked at paying $8/pair for ID photos.  I needed three pairs, so it
was going to get a bit pricey.  I also hate it when the shot looks
bad; even if they offer to retake it, I typically feel bad about it.
Thankfully most US government agencies have gotten rid of their
Tamron 28-30001 Jan 2008 18:04 GMT5
I am looking for opinions on this lens for a Canon Rebel.  The specs
look promising if it is any good offering a single lens that would
cover a very broad range of situations.
