| Statue of Liberty with the Sigma 170-500 | 05 Jan 2008 12:02 GMT | 3 |
I dropped friends off at EWR tonight, and tested the sharpness of my Sigma 170-500 on the way back. DID YOU KNOW that there's a viewing area set up right in the middle of the industrial barrens of Bayonne? Neither did I.

| Just got a VR 18-55 | 05 Jan 2008 03:22 GMT | 2 |
B&H has them in stock. Mine arrived yesterday, so I will be putting it through its paces and reporting my impressions. I am very happy with the 70-300 VR and expect to get plenty of use out of this one. If the image quality is at least as good as the "old" 18-55 (with the added ...

Does mirror lockup on both the Nikon D200 and D300 always stop functioning when the battery is less than 3/4 full? Does the Canon 40D mirror lockup function stop working before the batter dies? Thanks.

I read some info about the 51 point AF system for the new Nikon D300. The dpreview showed a graphical presentation on the locations of those 51 points within the targeted digital frame (approximately covers 2/3 of the square, centered in the middle of the frame). Could someone

The cheapest cameras I have seen are one from brands like Praktica and have fixed lenses. Does a fixed lens camera require you to press & hold the shutter button halfway down or is it a straight 'one-click takes photo' operation?

| 40D ISO Rating | 04 Jan 2008 16:31 GMT | 2 |
Looking at the following link, it says the following: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EOS-40D-Digital-SLR-Camera-Revi ew.aspx "...the 40D's sensor is about 1/6 to 1/3 of a stop less sensitive than the 30D's. This means that images shot with identical shooting ...

| big lens question | 04 Jan 2008 15:14 GMT | 7 |
Hello fellow enthusiasts. Over the recent holidays I was disappointed because my 70-300mm lens was not able to capture a meaningful picture a a local hawk in the trees. I like doing nature photography. So my question is about big lenses, or at least 500mm lenses. There are ...

| Nikon D80 Dark or Underexposed Photos | 03 Jan 2008 20:42 GMT | 11 |
I just bought a Nikon D80 DSLR. I have taken 35mm photos for years using my 1979 vintage Nikon FE. I decided it was time to go digital so I bought the D80. I've mainly been taking photos for right now with the camera making most of the settings. I hate to say it, but I am not at ...
