Long zoom EVFs17 Dec 2007 23:25 GMT12
Is there any real information on the next generation of these cameras? The
current crop does everything except take decent pictures.
For example the Panaleicasonic FZ18 has incredible specs.
Unfortunately the images it creates have incredible noise even at the lowest

Digital Photo Frame Saying 2GB Card is Full When it's Not17 Dec 2007 17:04 GMT17
Was transferring photos to a brand new 2GB SD card that is inserted
into my KODAK photo frame.   Telling me it's full long before 2GB
worth of photos are transferred.  I did some google searching and saw
some references to limiting of "root folders" and maybe I need to
Canon 40D Noise @ ISO 800-160017 Dec 2007 17:04 GMT5
Anyone done any noise comparisons between the 20D/30D and the 40D, mainly at
ISO 800-1600 (without the noise reduction feature on)?
Is the 40D noisier due to smaller pixel pitch?  I have heard that the
metering on the 40D keeps the shutter open for longer than the 20D/30D under

Sepia Print on HP 684017 Dec 2007 10:10 GMT3
I'm trying to get a sepia toned image to print on an HP6840 printer, and
I can't seem to make it work.
It keeps coming out as a B&W photo instead.  I've tried different color
spaces, and having my application (photoshop) control the color, the

I'm guessing this is a lens problem?17 Dec 2007 03:14 GMT16
I use a Sigma 28-300 zoom on a Nikon D50.  While in Thailnad (humid) a
month ago it started huinting and not autofocusing, had to manual
focus and then ok, but a bother.  I thought it may be the humidity,
but now at home in WI its doing the same thing, cannot use it in
slightly OT question on image stabilizers17 Dec 2007 00:22 GMT1
image stabilization is a much advertised "feature"
on many image capture devices (be it a camera or a
video) - note the expensive high dollar platforms
on a ENG helo - all to give a nice STABLE picture

digital VS film lens16 Dec 2007 20:48 GMT17
I'm going to buy a new lens  28-300 zoom for my D50, but would prefer
a film lens which would give me effectively a 44-450 on this digital
camera.  How can I determine if the lens I'm buying is for film,
versus digital?  I don't know the difference between DG and other lens
Nikon D-50 Question16 Dec 2007 20:21 GMT11
Had the camera for 1 year plus, recent photos have been show RED EYE and
dark shadows badly. I understand to pull subject away from wall, etc but
started thinking that something could be wrong with the camera as the
past few months seems like I have TONS of red eye and shadows?
