Lensbaby + Nikon D4005 Dec 2007 18:19 GMT5
I'm rather enthused by the idea of a LensBaby, almost enthused enough
to buy a whole camera.
Lower-end Nikons (D40, D80) would have been my choice of body except
for one crucial detail: without an electrical connection to the lens,
Turning flash off on D5005 Dec 2007 14:31 GMT3
I have been doing some tabletop photography with our D50, in aperture
mode. I could not turn the flash off.  Reading the manual carefully,
it looks like this is indeed the case. If the system thinks there is
not enough light, it WILL flash (I can, however, select only fill

THIS IS MOHAMMED 2205 Dec 2007 11:56 GMT3
Similarly, there is the story of the lamb, that has come down to us
from one who was there: 'We worked with the Apostle at the trench. I
had a half-grown lamb and I thought it would be a good thing to cook
it for Allah's Messenger. I told my wife to grind barley and make
Freeware to touch up pimples & blemishes on feminine face shots05 Dec 2007 04:51 GMT7
I have the classic amateur photographer's problem in that a female friend
asked me to snap shots of her for a personal advertisement but the pimples
and blemishes embarrass me.
I do lovely face shots - but I can't not photograph the pimples. I haven't

Printer Recommendation?05 Dec 2007 02:51 GMT22
Hi, I need to buy an  inkjet MFD (printing and scanning) for home printing.
I print mainly text business documents and occasional color photos.
My last three printers have been HP MFD inkjet devices and the last two I
dumped because of paper jams and having to replace inkjetr ...
Looking for a good small camera for stage shots04 Dec 2007 23:07 GMT5
I need a camera that would be good for shots of performers on stage that would
be printable with a good resolution.
Sometimes they are moving so need to get them frozen and sometimes the lights
are either too low or really bright.
SlideShow SW for pan and zoom (and clips)04 Dec 2007 22:55 GMT3
I'm looking for presentation SW that will allow me to create a
slideshow with pan and zoom on the images. Ideally the slide would do
it's thing, but not advance to the next slide until manually advanced.
(Don't want just a 'movie' of the slides playing) The ability to imbed

Flash vs. Ambient light...04 Dec 2007 19:08 GMT22
I often shoot indoors in the evening using aperture-priority mode, opening
the aperture until the shutter speed is fast enough to avoid camera shake.
I realize a tripod or faster lens can help out here.
A few weeks ago I learned that I can use Manual mode to choose any shutter

Absolute simplest digital camera.04 Dec 2007 18:47 GMT14
This is a serious question. I have a wife who is loosing her memory
and always liked film photography (not serious art of technical) and
finds all digital cameras with the many adjustments required too much
for her. My hope is to find a digital she can master so that I can
Two buck light tent04 Dec 2007 15:52 GMT3
Okay...answered my own question.
Went to a flea market and spent $2 on a popup laundry hamper.
When not in use they flatten down to almost nothing. When popped open
they are five-sided, with an open end. They usually contain handles
Canon EF-S 18-55mm poor performance at wide angle settings04 Dec 2007 07:31 GMT9
I've had a Canon 300D for nearly 4 years, and I've noticed my EF-S
18-55mm lens that came with the camera is deteriorating in
performance, particularly at wide aperature settings.
I've noticed that although the centre of the image is very sharp, it
