DSLR lens question30 Oct 2007 00:12 GMT5
I'm upgrading/adding to my digital equipment and am not sure whether to go
for DSLR or Superzoom.  I still posess an 35mm SLR Olympus OM10 with a
wide-angle (Miranda) and tele (Tokina) lens.  If these lenses could be
used/adapted to fit a DSLR it might sway my decision.  Is this ...
You know what's even better than people using flash at a football game?30 Oct 2007 00:05 GMT19
I'm watching Giants vs. Dolphins from Wembley now, and it's amazing how
many people are a) leaving their flash on to take photos, and b) leaving
their RED-EYE REDUCTION ON when leaving their flash on to take photos.

A Canon G9 question29 Oct 2007 23:47 GMT1
The user comments for the G9 on dpreview.com mention a "light leak"
without going into details.
What are they talking about?
D40x loves remote control ;-))29 Oct 2007 19:37 GMT8
With a universal remote control you can remote control your Nikon D40(x),
D50, D70, D80 and maybe more that use the ML-L3 rc from Nikon.
I tested it on the D40 and D40x and it works! Bulb, single and burst
shooting! And amazingly enough: it works from ALL SIDES!!
The "Supersized" scan29 Oct 2007 18:28 GMT2
Somehow, I don't think the scanner that did this was off-the-shelf

Bigma lens and similar29 Oct 2007 17:27 GMT16
Does anyone here have hands-on experience with one of the third-party
super-zooms? I'm looking at the Sigma 170-500, the 50-500 (which seems
to get better reviews, strangely), and the Tamron 200-500. I go up to
200 right now, plus a 1.6 extension.
Last Supper at 16GP!!!29 Oct 2007 16:56 GMT7
Some group stitched a ton of digital images together to make a
16Gigapixel image of Da Vinci's Last Supper.
You can view it here.

U.S.-Canadian dollars at par, but it sure doesn't matter!!29 Oct 2007 14:24 GMT40
Examples of "skewed" Canadian pricing.  Henry's (Toronto) versus B&H.
B&H isn't even a discount store.

uploading Picasa2 images to processor29 Oct 2007 09:29 GMT3
I want to upload images that I have cropped in Picasa2 to an online
photo processor.  Where would the cropped photo file be located so the
processor receives the correct file?  Got a new Nikon D40 and am
anxious to see some prints.  Thanks for your help.  Much appreciated!
How to Unplug/Eject Memory Card in Win XP?29 Oct 2007 09:09 GMT29
I have a Sandisk Extreme card reader permanently plugged into my Windows XP
PC.  Whenever I want to download images from my camera I insert the SD card
but XP does not seem to see it.  I need to unplug the USB cable and reinsert
it.  Ditto if I 'stop' the device.
Dpreview, Slyware or spyware?29 Oct 2007 00:01 GMT13
Is Dpreview infecting our computers with spyware, or rather slyware?
I have noticed that some of my Amazon.com enquiries/orders of things
like a digital watch, or a certain mempry card or a book are showing
up on an advertising side bar when logging into the Dpreview website.
Dpreview's clear Canon bias part II28 Oct 2007 16:55 GMT7
Camera introductions versus reviews.  Since the beginning of 2006:
Canon I = 43 R = 16
Nikon I = 33 R = 6
Pentax I = 24 R = 4
Dpreveiw figures a way to LOVE Canon even more28 Oct 2007 12:24 GMT42
By doing NOTHING BUT Canon reviews!  Of mediocre P&S's no less!!
C'mon Dpreview, how long do you think your core audience of enthusiast
photogs will stick around if this keeps up?
Reviews people want, missing in action:

How Do You File Your RAW and JPG Versions?28 Oct 2007 06:41 GMT16
I have recently switched to using RAW.  Now for each photo I have the
edited/enhanced TIF or JPG together with the original RAW data.
Trouble is my photos are organised into files; e.g. nature, holidays, etc,
etc.
