Looking for a "prosumer" camera recommendation19 Sep 2007 04:21 GMT13
I'd posted separately in rec.photo.digital about screwing my camera up
by being in the rain with it, then repeatedly turning it on without
letting it dry.  Dumb mistake, and lesson learned.
Part of that thread asked for a recommendation for a new camera, but I
Camera in rain and is hosed - what do I do?19 Sep 2007 03:28 GMT46
I was dumb enough to be taking pictures in the rain today.
Part way through, the electronic viewfinder got what looked like a TV
test pattern, and then none of the buttons worked - only the on/off
switch.
Camera with ultra-slow burst mode?18 Sep 2007 19:46 GMT18
Is there a camera out there that snaps a photo say every ten seconds?
A self-timer that repeats itself every so often.  But not so fast as
to be close to a movie.
Maybe a time-lapse movie mode.
Fuji Finepix v5.3 for Vista18 Sep 2007 15:20 GMT2
I have a Fuji camera and when I load the pictures onto my computer the
Finepix software selects the folder name and I can add a description to
that.  For instance, if I select "car pictures" the folder name assigned is
"2004_10012carpictures".  This is very annoying.  Secondly ...

I bought a Casio Exilim 8 meg camera with a 3x optical and a 4x

Focus is perfect in the optical area, but when I go into the digital
Canon 40D vs Nikon D300 Comparison18 Sep 2007 03:38 GMT16
Hi all. I'm new to the group. I wanted to share the comparison 40D and
D300 with you all. I was looking to buy a D300. But then I read about
the comparison and thought D300 is not so necessary for me. What do
you think about that? I'm afraid of buying wrong cam for me
Lens choice recommendations18 Sep 2007 02:32 GMT22
Several weeks ago I bought the Pentax DSLR K10D camera with the 40mm
f2.8 "pancake lens" and am delighted with it for the purpose I chose
it for.
However, now I'm ready to expand my options and want to buy another
What is the Best Software for Fixing Pictures?18 Sep 2007 01:23 GMT28
What is the best software to quickly fix photos.
Before rushing to say Photoshop, while I agree for more complex
digital photo manipulation it can't be beat, I want something that
does common corrections the average novice often needs, such as red
Standard white balance presets?17 Sep 2007 23:26 GMT1
Are white balance presets standardised in terms of the colour temperature
conversion they achieve in the way that filters are?
Experimenting with my camera indicates that "sunny" = no correction whilst
"cloudy" is the same as using something like an 81A or 81B correction
kodak $10 snapshot camera/film17 Sep 2007 22:19 GMT3
I picked up one of those $10 cameras with film in it that they sell
these days.  When the processed film and prints (all kodak) came
back, one outside shot looked normal, but all the shots taken with
the flash had exploded grain or what looked like exploded grain on
400D Strange behaviour17 Sep 2007 22:18 GMT4
I've had my 400D since april and its excellent! 6500 shots so far.
Now, I've noticed a couple of anoying problems that rarely occurs, but
do occur from time to time.
1. Sometimes after I take a shot, the info in the viewfinder goes
Adobe Lightroom price?17 Sep 2007 19:45 GMT6
The cost of the Adobe Lightroom download from the official UK Abobe shop
is £211.62p
If they send it on disc it is £205.62p
What's all that about? Why is it more expensive to purchase the download?
